You're really made to feel part of the family at the Hotel Lanz, they'll do all they can for you to ensure you have a great stay. The hotel is set in a chilled and tranquil location away from the lively Livigno streets but with easy access using the free resorts bus if you wish to nip into town for a coffee, bite to eat or experience the après on offer. The nearest ski-lift is 100 metres away and centre of town is 300 metres away, so everything isn't too far out of reach at all.

Recently renovated, the family run hotel has a comfortable and relaxed feel to it, none more so than in the spa. Turn up the heat in the sauna, cleanse the body in the Turkish bath or you can pay locally and enjoy the bubbles of the hot tub.

The restaurant has a lovely feel to it, wooden rafters overhead, decorative lighting hanging down and of course the large windows looking out over Livigno, the perfect setting to enjoy some wonderful Italian food, with a local Valtellina influence. The restaurant team will be able to help select a nice bottle of wine to accompany your meal and help bring out the wonderful flavours.

Fast becoming one of the most exciting ski resorts in the Alps, Livigno is making a big name for itself as now confirmed as one of the venues for the 2026 Olympics and it’s easy to see why. Sat not far from the Swiss border, this snow sure resort has an extensive, modern ski area whilst retaining the traditional character of its original three villages.

The town itself sits in the valley where either side of you, the mountains rise up creating two separate ski areas, all linked by the efficiently and free local buses circulating the resort. The unique layout means there are dedicated areas and lifts for beginners straight from resort level, while more experienced skiers and boarders can head to the top and enjoy a huge range of on and off-piste in the area as well as fun parks, boarder cross tracks and for those looking for some serious fun, head to the Mottolino snowpark which has hosted many international freestyle competitions.

Shoppers can take advantage along the traffic free streets in the centre of the resort as not only is there a great selection of shops to choose from, the resort interestingly since the 16th century and to this day holds a duty free status, meaning your money goes much further. Here you will also find a great selection of cafes, restaurants as well as a huge range of non-ski related activities from fat biking to husky sledding, plenty to keep you busy each day.

To end with, rumour has it the ‘Bombardino’ was created in Livigno, so when people ask us is the resort good for après, with around 150 bars to pick from, it most certainly is, possibly the best we have experienced in Italy but why not judge it for yourself and make this your next ski destination.
