Hotel St Michael racks up tonnes of great reviews year after year. The location's fantastic - its only 200 metres from the Cassana lift giving easy access to the ski area. If you want to go further afield, the nearest bus stop is just 20 metres from the hotel. The free resort bus goes all around the resort so getting into town couldn't be easier.

The hotel's a traditional Alpine property run by a friendly team. We love the wellness area with its stone floors and wooden interiors. It's got a Finnish sauna, whirlpool and loads more to help you recuperate after a day skiing. Food plays an important part in any ski holiday and here is no exception. The food is typical Valtellinese with a Mediterranean twist. There's also a huge wine list, with at least 180 wines to choose from.

Livigno

Fast becoming one of the most exciting ski resorts in the Alps, Livigno is making a big name for itself as now confirmed as one of the venues for the 2026 Olympics and it’s easy to see why. Sat not far from the Swiss border, this snow sure resort has an extensive, modern ski area whilst retaining the traditional character of its original three villages.

The town itself sits in the valley where either side of you, the mountains rise up creating two separate ski areas, all linked by the efficiently and free local buses circulating the resort. The unique layout means there are dedicated areas and lifts for beginners straight from resort level, while more experienced skiers and boarders can head to the top and enjoy a huge range of on and off-piste in the area as well as fun parks, boarder cross tracks and for those looking for some serious fun, head to the Mottolino snowpark which has hosted many international freestyle competitions.

Shoppers can take advantage along the traffic free streets in the centre of the resort as not only is there a great selection of shops to choose from, the resort interestingly since the 16th century and to this day holds a duty free status, meaning your money goes much further. Here you will also find a great selection of cafes, restaurants as well as a huge range of non-ski related activities from fat biking to husky sledding, plenty to keep you busy each day.

To end with, rumour has it the ‘Bombardino’ was created in Livigno, so when people ask us is the resort good for après, with around 150 bars to choose from, it most certainly is, possibly the best we have experienced in Italy but why not judge it for yourself and make this your next ski destination.
