‘Threesixty’ revolving restaurant, Mittelallalin, Saas-Fee
Here is a restaurant with a twist! Located half way up the Allalin lift in the hills above Saas-Fee, the Threesixty revolving restaurant is the highest revolving restaurant in the world and a popular après ski terrace in the winter, but is still a lively bar and restaurant in the summer as well.
Of course, the highlight of Threesixty is the outstanding panoramic views across the Alps, but you don’t need to move around the restaurant to get the best outlook, the whole building slowly revolves so you’ll see the entire vista from your table!
The restaurant serves up some Swiss classics, but with seasonal twists and changing specialty menu set aside from the a la carte menu. Perfect place to stop and refuel during your mountain and hill treks and rambles!

Sitting in a unique position overlooking Lake Lucerne, the Art Deco Hotel Montana in Lucerne is a truly spectacular example of what hotels are all about- a little slice of luxury away from home in an outstanding location with exquisite views, in this case, of Lake Lucerne from the dining terrace. Harking back to the dizzying heydays of tourism in the 1920s, this hotel is filled with opulent style and charm, but perhaps the crowning glory of the hotel is, besides its fantastic position and vista, the Scala Restaurant.
Inspired by the flavours of southern Switzerland, Italy, France and Greece, the menu is lovingly curated by a team of expert chefs and changes with the season, making the most of the regional and seasonal produce to create some delicious avant garde cuisine. There is also an extensive wine list to satisfy every palette, and a fantastic new vegan menu.
And of course, it goes without saying that everything is best enjoyed on the fabulous Scala Terrace that offers a panoramic view of Lake Lucerne and town.
Top Mountain Star Restaurant, Obergurgl
Sitting at 3080m above the sea level, you’ll certainly be leaving this restaurant on a high...! The Top Mountain Star restaurant in Obergurgl is technically a bar (and what a bar!) that offers up some delicious snacks and small meals, but we all know that the best part of the meal at this fantastic restaurant is those views.
Described as an architectural masterpiece, from its position perched on a narrow ridge of the Wurmkogel the Top Mountain Star offers a 360 degree panoramic view of the surrounding peaks and valleys of the Ötz valley Alps stretching into the Italian Dolomites. A perfect place to stop and rest your feet while rambling the hills of Hochgurgl-Obergurgl.
Sitting at the top of the mountain, this is a very popular après ski terrace during the winter thanks to proximity to the nearby chairlift, but stays open during the summer with the new Downhill Grill opening its doors to hungry ramblers from 9am-6pm from June to September.
The perfect hotel for those guests who just want to get off the beaten path and truly immerse themselves in nature and the beauty of the surrounding landscape. The Hotel Seerose in Fuschl am See has a prime location, with a lovely lakeside setting and panoramic views of the lake and surrounding hills.
The hotel has a private terrace and lakeside lido to boot, but of course it wouldn’t be ‘restaurants with amazing views’ without talking about the delicious food on offer! With an a-la-carte restaurant serving up delicious fresh food made from regional produce, guests who stay in the hotel are treated to a traditional Austrian farmers breakfast. And at the end of the day, there is the relaxing lakeside bar and terrace to finish it all off with a tipple.
Despite being only a two minutes’ stroll from the centre of Alpbach, you would be forgiven for mistaking this spa resort hotel for a wilderness retreat. Celebrating uninterrupted panoramic mountain views from the back terrace of the stunning Tyrolean landscape, the hotel is immensely proud of its luxurious ¾ board menu, offering a sumptuous feast of contemporary Austrian Tyrolean cuisine in a traditional Alpine bar and restaurant.
Hotel guests are offered three choices of main course in the evening, and an in-house sommelier will advise you on a huge selection of local wines so you can sit back and savour the food and drink as the sun slips beneath the tips of the mountains.
But one of the best things about the Spa Resort Alpbacherhof is its absolutely outstanding spa facilities. Breathtaking, undisturbed panoramic views across the Alpbach mountains and meadows will completely sweep you off your feet. The outdoor swimming pool is heated all year around, and guests are allowed to wander around the beautiful gardens throughout the summer, discovering shady spots to enjoy with a book and cup of tea.
Lake Bled in Slovenia is arguably one of the most iconic and picturesque lakes in the world. And the views of the famous castle, mountains, island and church are all captured and framed from the terrace of the Park Restaurant and Cafe, which sits right at the heart of the town of Bled.
You can’t fault the views in the slightest, and with the mellow summer breeze sweeping across the surface of the lake, it is the perfect place to sit back and nurse a glass of wine as the evening sets in. The restaurant offers up a fusion of Italian and Eastern European cuisine, with delicious pastas, pizzas and of course, the signature Lake Bled cream cake. Hotel Park even goes as far as claiming to be the original home of the Bled cream cake... and judging by the quality of the delicious sweet treats, we think they’re onto something!
Bled Castle restaurant
While many people would relish a table overlooking the iconic Lake Bled castle, having a delicious dinner or lunch from inside the castle is even better!
Built in 1011, Bled Castle has been lovingly restored and holds a museum of Slavic history, exploring the tumultuous story that the castle holds over the course of 1,000 years.
With its vantage point from the top of the precarious cliff overlooking Bled, the lake and the mountains beyond, it’s understandable why anyone would want to build their castle in such a beautiful location. Even more understandable why anyone would want to establish a delicious restaurant on the site too!
Rated again and again as an outstanding restaurant with attentive staff, delicious food, and of course that stunning view across Lake Bled and the Julian Alps towards Bohinj, guests just keep on returning. The perfect location for a special birthday, anniversary, and the castle even lends itself as a wedding venue as well.
If climbing up to the castle doesn’t seem like your thing, then situated just below the castle rock is the Castle Beach Restaurant, Grajska Plaza. One of the most beautiful locations in Bled, close to the lake and below the castle rock, this little bar and restaurant has a delicious a la carte menu that will suit every palette and taste.
Taking inspiration from the wonderful locally produced cheese and cured meats, as well as incorporating Mediterranean influences, this restaurant serves up some seriously tasty food throughout the summer season.
There is also a bar here with an extensive drinks menu, including cocktails. Perfect location to sit and spend an afternoon soaking in that famous view!

Terrazza Danieli Restaurant, Venice
And now for something a little different!
For some, dining with a view could be enjoying a candlelit dinner next to a beautiful lake with mountains in the distance, but for others, a truly memorable evening comes from a spectacular view from a roof top terrace over the roofs in the heart of The City of Masks- Venice.
Situated with brilliant views over Venice in all directions, especially looking out towards the sea and lagoon and the square outside the Doge’s Palace next door, you can guarantee you’re in for a special treat and an once-in-a-lifetime romantic evening dinner.
The restaurant itself pulls in inspiration from across the globe for its cuisine, harking back to Venice being a cosmopolitan hub of trade for centuries. Seafood is popular on the avant garde menu, as is plenty of regional and local produce, and food is something you would expect to be served in some of the best Michelin-star restaurants across the globe. Best way to bring your holiday to Venice to a close.
Trattoria Loncrino, Torri del Benaco
An outdoor terrace that overlooks Lake Garda and towards Pulciano comes to life with lively locals who love their food genuine, hearty, home cooked, and filled with love and made with the finest locally sourced ingredients. Getting to the restaurant is a leisurely stroll into the hills above Torri del Benaco, and you are rewarded with the food and wine upon your arrival.
The food is no-frills attached down-to-earth Italian goodness, enhanced by the surrounding beauty of Lake Garda. This restaurants great reputation has spread through the word of mouth and no wonder our guests keep and on returning to it year after year!
Formerly a 17th Century abbey, this hotel has been lovingly restored, maintaining much of its original charm and that slight magical, fairytale twist, it has beautiful gardens that stretch down to the shores of the lake, and a jetty for sunbathing and swimming from. The French impressionist painter, Paul Cézanne stayed here over a century ago, inspired by the beautiful surrounding landscape of Lake Annecy.
There are 3 different places to dine/ grab a drink here. The restaurant at Hotel l’Abbaye de Talloires, called Aux Jardins des Délices, matches its outstanding location with fine dining for lunch and dinner. Alternatively there is La Table de Cézanne, the brasserie-restaurant for relaxed lunches from June-September. And lastly, the piano bar serves delicious refreshing cocktails and opens its doors onto the waterside patio.
Restaurant le Panoramic, Chamonix
As the name suggests, you will be getting panoramic views from this stunning mountain-top restaurant in the peaks above Chamonix... and what mountain views they are! During the winter this is a very popular après ski terrace, but stays open throughout the summer as one of the best places to bask in the view of Mont Blanc.
Le Panoramic is situated on the summit of Brévent and therefore easily accessible for pedestrians during the summer months via the gondola and cable car.
The restaurant serves typical ‘Savoyard’ food, taking inspiration from the cuisine of the surrounding countries to include Italian pastas and pizzas, as well as soups, steaks, and don’t forget the foie gras!
Eagles Nest, Berchtesgaden
The Eagles Nest went down in the history books since it was Adolf Hitler’s summer retreat, gifted to him by the Nazi party for his 50th birthday in 1937, and its capture by the Allied forces in 1945 signified one of their biggest victories, marking the succession of events that led to the end of the war.
Understandably, the Eagles Nest is an architectural masterpiece; a holiday home fit for the Führer himself, and has been preserved in its original form over the years. Even the marble fireplace in the main room, a gift from the Italian dictator Mussolini, still has its damaged hearthstones from where American soldiers chipped away the rock for a little souvenir to take back home with them!
History lesson aside, the Eagles Nest now holds an outstanding restaurant and you can look over the views of Berchtesgaden and the surrounding Bavarian Alps. Sitting in a prime position at 1,800m, the views really couldn’t get any better and the restaurant itself is simple, but delicious.
Here is something truly unique- this hotel and its restaurant sit on their own island on Lake Constance. Yes, you read that right- it has its own island! The hotel, once a Dominican monastery, has been lovingly restored and still contains its original architectural features including cloisters and stunning frescos.
But the crowning glory is the lake side dining terrace. A privileged position, when the weather is fine this terrace offers unadulterated views of Lake Constance. Allow yourself to be spoiled with light dishes, coffee, cakes and ice creams.
Of course, all of our guests will be wanting to make the most of that legendary terrace but the Steigenberger Inselhotel also has a further 2 restaurants on its premises serving up some delicious Alpine and German inspired cuisine. The Zeppelin Bar which sits in the former vestry serves up some fabulous drinks and cocktails daily, which can be carried out onto the terrace.
