Family Holidays in Italy

Family holidays in Italy

We’ve tried and tested a wide range of Italian destinations and activities to produce perfect holidays that you – and your family – will love and treasure. Some places have baby facilities and kids’ clubs, others have activities for older children and all look after the adults too !

Italy offers rural retreats where children will love learning about how to care for farm animals, or helping to cook a traditional rustic feast. And there are acres of olive groves, fragrant citrus orchards and vineyards to discover while experiencing the traditional way of life in peaceful villages off the beaten track.

City Family Holidays

Colosseum in Italy

The magic of Italy’s cities is that they educate and entertain effortlessly whether you’re young or old. Many of the cities are like museums in that they are packed with so much history and culture - consider Venice, Florence, Rome, Verona and Milan.

Each one of these cities has the ‘wow’ factor – you have the gondolas on the Venetian canals, the domes and artistic treasures of Florence; the Vatican, Pantheon and all the antiquities of Rome.

Children studying Shakespeare will find the beautiful pink-marbled city of Verona interesting and its Roman Arena amphitheatre also has classic opera summer performances to enjoy. The northern city of Milan, the fashion capital of Italy, is wonderful to explore as a family.

Car lovers, however, will love Turin; it’s the home of the Fiat, Lancia and Alfa Romeo plants and you can tour the National Car Museum – and then there’s the fact that it’s also home to world-famous football club Juventus!
