High altitude resort with an extensive network of slopes and legendary après-ski scene

Sölden is totally unique as a ski area, with three mountains over 3,000 metres and two glaciers - Retttenbach and Tiefenbach, ensuring superb snow conditions and reliability. The 'BIG 3 Rally' loop takes you to all of the 3,000m plus peaks on a 50km circuit in a day that will take you to some viewpoints you will be sure to remember. Skiing is almost exclusively above the tree line with 144 km of world–class skiing for all ability levels, easily accessible by the efficient lift system.

The lift pass also covers a further 110km of wide open, cruising runs in the Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski area - just jump on the ski bus and spend a day or two exploring this area.

With more than 30 mountain huts and restaurants in the Sölden ski area - be sure to visit ‘ice Q’. Perched on top of the Gaislachkogl peak, recognisable by its glass façade and steel towers, and used as a location in the James Bond film ‘Spectre’.

Down in the village, traditional Tyrolean-style buildings stretch along the valley, and Sölden has a lively atmosphere with many après-ski bars, clubs and restaurants.

Choose Sölden for your ski holiday and you will be wowed by the overwhelming scenery and high-altitude skiing at its best.

Beginners in Sölden

There are two beginners areas. One near the Innerwald area between the two main gondolas, and the other at the top of the Giggijoch gondola - just a short walk from our hotels. There is a good variety of blue runs accessible from the Giggijoch which are perfect for improving and mastering turns. Bobos Miniclub has dedicated areas to teach children and also offers activities which will keep the smaller ones occupied with plenty of fun in the snow.

Intermediates in Sölden

Sölden is famous for its wide open and perfectly groomed slopes. The modern lifts and array of pistes connect the area superbly. Follow the 'Golden Gate to the Glacier' where you can ski from the village up to the glaciers at 3,250m. The 'BIG 3 Rally' is an absolute must. Follow the signposts around a 50km circuit of the three highest peaks in the area, and see the stunning views from the viewing platforms at the top. There are good freeriding opportunities off the Giggijoch area for intermediates.

Advanced in Sölden

There are some challenging red runs, and 27km of black slopes in the ski area also. Freeriders have an abundance of choice, the top of the Gaislachkogl offers some of the steepest and longest terrain in the area.

Snowboarding Sölden

Snowboarding is popular here with boarders of all levels. The are good options all over the mountain, the Gaislachkogl has superb freeriding options and the two glacier areas are also very popular. The massive 6-hectare 'Area 47 Snowpark Sölden' is located above the Giggijoch gondola and has a huge choice of jumps, rails and obstacles to try out or improve on. Or if that's not your thing, just grab a beer and a deckchair and watch the experts do theirs.
