The historic and former Olympic city of Innsbruck has a magnificent setting on the river Inn, right in the heart of the Austrian Alps and surrounded by snowy mountains on all sides. Skiing is mostly suited to intermediates and advanced and starts on the Patcherkofl a short 15minutes’ away. All areas are easily accessed by a free ski bus. In Innsbruck explore the many shops, bars and restaurants, visit the famous “Golden Roof” in the atmospheric Old Town, the Bergisel Olympic Ski Jump or even have a go on the Olympic bobsleigh run. You can also take the tram ride up to the quaint alpine village of Igls, 3km away.
