Our Chalet Staff
We are frequently told by guests that “The Inghams team made our holiday!” – a compliment we are determined to live up to once again this winter. You’ll find that most of our hosts are avid skiers or snowboarders and love nothing more than to share their knowledge and passion for the slopes with our guests. Our Chalet Hosts are all enthusiastic dinner-party cooks, who look forward to providing you the warm welcome, delicious food and friendly service which lie at the heart of an Inghams chalet holiday. In our Chalets, our professional Chalet Chefs provide varied, mouth-watering meals, whilst our team of Chalet Assistants serve meals and look after the chalet's house-keeping duties.
Our Chalet Hotel Staff
Our Chalet Hotel hosts are chosen for their friendly and helpful attitude, whilst our chefs are professionally trained to provide mouth-watering cuisine of hotel standard. At all times your Resort Representative is also on hand to help out with their local knowledge, and help arrange restaurant bookings on the Chalet Hotel team's one day off per week.

Chalet Cuisine
- Six days per week, our Chalet Hosts will prepare and serve your meals.
- On their one day off each week, they will leave a simpler Continental breakfast out for you to help yourselves, and there is no afternoon tea that day, and you are invited to dine out at dinner.
- During the rest of the week, start the day with a hearty skiers' breakfast, including a choice of porridge or cereals, tea, coffee, fruit juice, local breads (including croissants and pains au chocolat in France of course!), plus boiled eggs, a choice of preserves, cheese and cold-cut meats, all normally laid out buffet-style for you. There will also be a hot 'dish of the day' available, such as an omelette or pancakes, freshly cooked to order.
- Afternoon tea is the traditional 'welcome home' for chalet guests at the end of a day's skiing, with a slice of freshly baked cake, different each day, to accompany your choice of tea or coffee.
- Dinner in our chalets has recently been upgraded to four courses each evening, starting with canapés and an apéritif, followed by a starter, main course and dessert, with coffee or tea to follow. Our choice of free wines - two red and two white - is served, unrestricted, throughout the meal service each evening.
- Complimentary Chalet Wine Our choice of wines is chosen in conjunction with our good friends Nicolas and Véronique Perret and their established Savoie wine business who have helped us select two contrasting whites and two choice reds for you to enjoy unlimited, throughout dinner.
See our terms and conditions for further important chalet information.
Chalet Hotels
Our 11 Chalet Hotels all offer comfortable accommodation plus a warm welcome and friendly, professional service from your Inghams Chalet Hotel team.
All Chalet Hotels are entirely non smoking. Each has its own bar, open to residents only* - the ideal place for your choice of après ski tipple. Property ratings shown are our own, and are not to be confused with 'official' star rating systems of any kind. Children of all ages are welcome in our Chalet Hotels on all dates.
*The 'Méribar' bistro & bar adjacent to Chalet Hotel Les Grangettes and the Dragon bar in Cervinia are open to the public during the day, but reserved exclusively for Chalet Hotel residents after 7.30pm. See terms and conditions for further important Chalet Hotel information.
Chalet Hotel Meals
- Breakfast - A buffet breakfast is available every day, including a choice of cereals, fruit juices, local breads, cold meats, cheeses and preserves, accompanied by your choice of tea or coffee. There will also be a hot 'dish of the day' six days per week, such as pancakes with fruit, or sausage and bacon, which is freshly cooked to order.
- Afternoon tea - After a tremendous day's skiing or snowboarding, return to a hot drink and a slice of freshly baked home-made cake.
- Culinary Choice Dinner - Our Chalet Hotels make dinner a highlight of the day, with our 5-course menus served six days each week, accompanied by a choice of complimentary quality wines. Dinner starts with canapés and an apéritif, generally served in the lounge/bar, followed by a starter, main course, dessert and a cheese selection to finish. We offer choices for each course, always including a vegetarian option, and ask that you make your selection at breakfast each day, so that our chef's team can prepare everything fresh for you that evening. One evening each week your Chalet Hotel staff have the evening off, enabling you to choose from one of the local restaurants for that evening's dinner. Each of our resorts offers a wide range of national and international cuisine across all price ranges. Dinner can be as sociable or as private as you wish, with larger tables for groups of friends, whether old or new, or private tables for more intimate dining for couples if preferred.
- Complimentary Chalet Hotel Wines
Our choice of wines is selected in conjunction with our good friends, Nicolas and Véronique Perret, and their long established Savoie wine business. Nicolas is a qualified 'Master of Wine', and has helped us select two contrasting whites, two choice reds and a rosé for you to enjoy, unlimited, throughout dinner each evening.
Christmas & New Year Celebrations
Leave behind the UK's dull, grey, damp December and join us instead for a proper 'White Christmas'. All our chalets and Chalet Hotels have a Christmas tree and most have log fires to add to the festive atmosphere, so combined with great food, good company, and no cooking or washing up, where would you rather be?
All our chalets and Chalet Hotels feature a full traditional Christmas Turkey Dinner on Christmas Day, with mince pies and Christmas pudding to follow, crackers, and a pre-dinner glass of Champagne. Santa will also drop in at some stage if you have children aged 8 or under in your party!
On New Year's Eve, all our chalets and Chalet Hotels serve a special Celebration Menu, preceded by a glass of Champagne. After dinner join the resort festivities, generally with fireworks to see in the New Year.
Ratings
As chalets and Chalet Hotels have no official ratings, our ratings are based on senior management inspections, coupled with any guest feedback where available. To help you with your chalet and Chalet Hotel choice, we show our star rating as a guide to help you compare between our chalets and Chalet Hotels as follows:
** Our value range, often in excellent locations in top ski resorts.
*** A simple but comfortable chalet or Chalet Hotel offering excellent value for money.
**** Superior levels of style and comfort in all living areas and chalets, generally with en suite bathroom facilities. An additional half is added to indicate something special within its grade, such as a private sauna or hot tub, a fantastic location, sensational views or use of a swimming pool.
Location
In our property descriptions, distances are given in metres to the nearest ski lift, bus stop etc. These distances were measured along public rights-of-way, but are approximate and subject to change (e.g. due to construction developments). Some piste-side chalets or Chalet Hotels are described as ‘ski-in, ski-out’; these are less than 150 metres from the nearest piste or lift. This distance is subject to snow conditions and an individual's skiing ability.
Free Places in our Chalets & Chalet Hotels
If you are a group of 7 or more in a chalet, you may be entitled to free group places and/or list passes. See our Ski Groups page for details.
Singles
Some of our chalets and Chalet Hotels have single rooms. These are limited in number, so book early. Alternatively, you can pay a supplement to keep a twin or double room for sole occupancy. For more information on hotels with single or double rooms for sole use without a supplement, see our Ski Single Savers page.
Exclusive Use
Entire chalets or Chalet Hotels can be booked for exclusive use for your group or family. If you cannot fill all the advertised minimum occupancy beds, a supplement is payable that replaces the total room under occupancy supplements.
Room Under-Occupancy
Supplements apply when a room is not used to its full, costed capacity, for example if two people book a three-bedded room (at least the minimum number stated must be booked). See accommodation pages for details.
Floor plans
Floor plans of all our chalets and Chalet Hotels can be found in the gallery section of the relevant property where available.
General Information
Vegetarian options are always available, and other special diets are available if booked in advance at a cost of £35 per person per week - please see Chalet terms and conditions for details.
All chalets are completely non-smoking properties. Chalet ratings shown are our own, and not to be confused with any system of 'official' star ratings or hotel categories.
Children under 12 years are welcome in chalets on school holiday dates only (December 22 & 29 2011; February 16, March 23 & 30, April 6, plus certain chalets on 9th February 2012), or on any other date if one group books an entire chalet for sole occupancy.
