Think of Italian cities and most people’s first thought is of Venice. But visitors to its smaller neighbour, Verona never fail to be entranced by its beauty and relaxed atmosphere.
As the location of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, Italy's most famous balcony awaits you at the Casa di Giulietta on Via Cappello, and if you explore further, you can also find the Casa di Romeo a few streets away. Take time to wander up to Piazza Brà and admire the rose-tinted Roman Arena, the historic amphitheatre which is home to the annual summer opera festival. In Piazza delle Erbe, you can explore the colourful market or sample some of the region's food, which is a must on every Verona holiday. For the art lovers, Verona's City art museum, housed in the 14th century Castelvecchio, offers a great collection of medieval sculptures and Renaissance paintings.
Your holiday in Verona can be either a ‘stand-alone’ 3 or 4 night short break with flights, transfers and accommodation included or a short break to the start of your chosen Lake Garda holiday. If you like, we can of course arrange for you to visit the Opera during your stay in Verona or on Lake Garda.
