The Tirolean town of Kitzbühel dates back to the 16th century and is famous for the vibrantly coloured buildings that line the main pedestrianised cobbled street in the centre. The pavement cafés make great spots for lunch whilst people watching, or visit many of the designer boutiques. Various festivals, concerts and open-air events are hosted here during the summer months.
Set in a broad valley basin and surrounded by the Kitzbüheler Alps and Wilder Kaiser mountain ranges, the first thing you notice is the pure mountain air. The scenic peaks, valleys and lakes host this town and its friendly locals. Those seeking exploration of the great outdoors can take advantage of the endless trails and views by walking some of the 1,000km of marked walking trails, or cycling some of the 800km of off-road routes. E-bikes make getting up to the highest vantage points very easy for you to take in the stunning views. For a more relaxing experience, the Schwarzsee Lake on the edge of the town is perfect for swimming, sunbathing and using the rowing boats to get around this lake in its natural woodland setting.
Located between Innsbruck and Salzburg, Kitzbühel makes a perfect base for sightseeing and exploring the wider area. Our guided excursions will take you to some of the most popular attractions, or use the local train and bus services to explore independently.
