Morzine

Nestling in a beautiful, forested valley, the stunningly pretty little town of Morzine has a quite unique charm with its traditional chalet-style architecture and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Morzine's breathtaking setting of towering mountain peaks, pine forests and serene lakes combines with the excellent range of activities available (many of which are included on the excellent Multipass card - see below) to make Morzine an ideal base for a memorable alpine holiday.

From endless footpaths and trails for excellent walking or mountain biking opportunities to rafting, horse riding and climbing, Morzine and neighbouring Avoriaz offers something for everyone. The picturesque town centre has a wide range of good value, quality shops, restaurants, cafés and bars as well as a cinema. Morzine is also an excellent choice for families with an array of activities on offer. Spend an afternoon at the water park, try summer tobogganing, visit the local cheese dairy or just relax and enjoy the amazing scenery.

Things to Do

Morzine for walkers

There are plenty of marked footpaths for all levels of walkers in the Morzine area so you can enjoy the stunning mountains around. The trails are all well signposted and link the different lifts that are open. Look out for whistling marmots and follow a number of popular paths leading to Switzerland, used by the French Resistance in the Second World War.

Explore and spend time together as a family

This is a great family destination and the free resort card is excellent value allowing a range of activities that families can enjoy together using the chairlifts, cable cars, swimming pool, the tourist train, ice rink and tennis courts.

Try a new adventure

If you are looking for an Alpine adventure and want to try something different then look no further than Morzine. The Tour de France is often in the area and cycle hire is easily available locally. Go paragliding for panoramic views, plunge into deep pools canyoning or go rock climbing or white water rafting. There activities are all supervised and led by qualified instructors.
