Set on the bank of the Grand Canal in the heart of Venice, Hotel L’Orologio positions itself in a prime position for exploring the city. The Rialto Bridge is just a five-minute walk away and the stunning social, political and religious centre of Venice that is Saint Marks Square is only half a mile from the hotel. Just one bridge from Rialto Mercarto, the nearest vaporetto stop, you’ll be soaking up the magnificent history and culture, tasting the culinary delights and navigating the waterways of Venice in no time.

The beautiful palazzo building has had a contemporary transformation, with its sleek décor and retro furnishings, yet still retains its historical character. The hotel’s theme of L'Orologio, which translates to watch or clock, runs throughout its interior design, especially seen in the contemporary artworks that adorn the bedroom walls depicting the inner workings of a clock. The spacious rooms are retro-chic and provide a comfortable ambient retreat away from the bustle of the floating city.

Charm laden canals, golden squares, waterside palaces – it’s little wonder that Venice is billed as the most romantic city on earth.

A city for the curious, getting lost in Venice is half the fun. Time-worn streets lead you past tiny pizzerias and shops hung with Venetian masks. Gondoliers glide down waterways navigated by their ancestors, while vaporetti speed down the Grand Canal to St Mark’s Square and the Rialto Bridge. Islands gather in the surrounding Venetian Lagoon – and each have their own specialty. Nip over to Murano to see the masterful glass blowers or to Burano to wander the canals framed by rainbow-coloured houses.

Inghams operate a telephone Rep service in Venice.
