From Paris, daytime services include a journey to Milan or a high-speed train that travels through the Swiss Alps to Lake Como or Lake Maggiore. Overnight services depart from Paris in the early evening and arrive into Italy by morning. Cabins are available with two or three berths and they come equipped with a wash basin.
high speed train networks
Trenitalia’s great network of high-speed rail routes makes touring Italy a breeze. Major cities are all connected, from Turin all the way down to Salerno, and this is the best and most comfortable way to get between them. Services are frequent and carriages well equipped. You’ll be assigned a seat and have plenty of leg room to sit back and relax on your journey. If you book first class you’ll even be treated to a glass of prosecco as you embark.
These trains are perfect for onward travel to smaller towns like Siena and Viareggio. They have a slower pace so you’ll get to enjoy a bit of scenery before arriving at your destination. It’s also a great way to explore more of Italy on your holiday with day trips by train. From Venice, take the train to Vicenza, head to Lucca from Florence or jump on at Sorrento for a quick ride to Pompeii or Naples.
