Passing icy glaciers, snow-dusted peaks, rushing rivers and rural hamlets, the journey from Zermatt to Davos/Klosters is an unforgettable holiday experience. You can sit back, relax and admire the spectacular scenery - The panoramic carriages ensure you do not miss thing! On board you can choose to have lunch (must be requested at time of booking) or plan your own picnic. A minibar service for drinks and snacks is also available on the train. Fly to Switzerland and take the scenic rail transfer from the airport to your first resort, Interlaken or Montreux (approx. 3 hours for Interlaken, or approx. 1 hour 15 minutes to Montreux from Geneva, or 3 hours from Zurich). In Interlaken, you are in the heart of the Bernese Oberland, with the Jungfrau region and Lakes Thun and Brienz on your doorstep. Spend the day on the lake, visit the nearby Giessbach waterfalls, visit historic Thun with its impressive castle and charming shopping streets, or head into the mountains of the Jungfrau massif. You are also spoilt for choice in Montreux with the chance to enjoy boat rides on Lake Geneva, to Lausanne or across to Evian, visit the alpine garden at Rochers de Naye for splendid views, or stroll along the colourful lakeside promenade, known as the ‘Swiss Riviera’.
DAY 4 OR 5
Travel by train to the world-famous resort of Zermatt (approx. 3 hours) for a 3 or 4 night stay. There is plenty to see and do in this charming traffic-free village. A must is a trip on the Gornergrat railway – you will be amazed by the stunning views of the glaciers and the Matterhorn. The Matterhorn Glacier paradise, Sunnegga funicular and Rothorn gondola provide further opportunities to access the extensive walking area, or just to admire the scenery. Back in the village, treat yourself to a delicious hot chocolate or cream cake in one of the many charming cafés along the main street, or visit the Matterhorn museum for an insight into the resort’s history.
The highlight of your holiday, today you will board the famous ‘Glacier Express’ train for your transfer to either the town of Davos, or the quiet mountain village of Klosters for a 3 or 4 night stay (approx. 8 hours, change of train sometimes required). This journey on the ‘slowest express train in the world’ takes you past glaciers, over bridges and viaducts, and through unspoilt mountain forests to the pure mountain air of Davos or Klosters. Once in resort, you can take advantage of the FREE use of mountain transport during your stay to discover the areas six mountains and excellent walking terrain. Madrisa and Parsenn are particular favourites, whilst Schatzalp has it’s own alpine garden with beautiful alpine flowers such as enzian and gentians on show. Entrance to the garden is also FREE with your guest card.

Travel by train from Davos or Klosters to the airport for you flight home (approx. 3 hours).
