Palio Delle Barche
In July one of the main events during the summer is the “Palion delle Barche” This historical re-enactment tells the story of rivalry between two historical Perugian families, the Baglioni and the Oddi. The event takes place on the last Sunday in July and is a race in 3 parts, water, overland and back in the water. 160 contestants divide
into 4 teams to race against each other and one of the most gruelling parts is running the steep steps to the fortress that overlooks Passignano carrying the extremely heavy boat. Fun to watch and a great atmosphere!
