Ski holidays in Davos

Varied skiing and lots of other activities: linked with “royal” Klosters

Davos, a bustling town just up and over from the more genteel Klosters, is set in a spectacular valley, with great views all around. Davos, most famous these days for hosting the annual World Economic Forum, is a friendly town – the highest in Europe -  offering 300km of world-class skiing. There are six different areas, with skiing for all levels, easily accessible by an efficient and frequent bus and train system. The linked Davos and Klosters region, with more than 200 miles of skiing, includes the celebrated Parsenn, Jakobshorn, Rinerhorn, Pischa, Gotschna and Madrisa. The extensive Parsenn area, with upwards of a hundred pistes, and exceptionally long runs all the way down to Serneus and Küblis, nine miles away, is the key to the heart of the Davos-Klosters skiing, and the location for the legendary annual Parsenn Derby race. Non-skiers can enjoy winter-walking, ice-skating, sledging and excursions. Experience the thrill of an ice hockey match and watch 30 times Swiss champions "Hockey Club Davos". The resort offers a good choice of mountain restaurants, such as 'Schwendi' at Parsenn, which serves local speciality dishes. In the evenings, the town’s “Promenade” (main street) is popular for a pleasant stroll, and lined with many cosy bars and cafés.

Beginners skiing in Davos

Ski school takes place at Bolgen and Buenda in Davos and there are some easy runs at Parsenn for gaining confidence. Bolgen and Bunda are in the valley bottom; and there are lots of easy blues to practice on further up.

Intermediates skiing in Davos

The wide and rolling blue and red runs are brilliant for cruising intermediate skiers or boarders looking to improve technique. There's a huge range of blues and reds, some quite challenging, to bring people along; and dozens of wooden huts to stop for refreshments.

Advanced skiing in Davos

Try the 12km challenge from Weissfluhgipfel to Küblis on the Parsenn, or head to Rinerhorn and Jakobshorn for some exhilirating black runs. There's acres of off-piste, loads of ski touring;glacier trails on the Silvretta; and challenging, marked ski routes that are not pisted.

Snowboarding in Davos

Spend the day in snowpark Jakobshorn with its half-pipes and jumps. Rinerhorn is mostly t-bars, so no problem for experienced boarders.

Cross-country in Davos

With over 75km of prepared trails, Davos is one of the best choices for cross-country skiers! No trail pass required.
