Hotel Park

Lake Bled, Slovenia

Lake Bled in Slovenia is arguably one of the most iconic and picturesque lakes in the world. And the views of the famous castle, mountains, island and church are all captured and framed from the terrace of the Park Cafe, which sits right at the heart of the town of Bled.

You can’t fault the views in the slightest, and with the mellow summer breeze sweeping across the surface of the lake, it is the perfect place to sit back and nurse a glass of wine as the evening sets in. The restaurant offers up a fusion of Italian and Eastern European cuisine, with delicious pastas, pizzas and of course, the signature Lake Bled cream cake. Hotel Park even goes as far as claiming to be the original home of the Bled cream cake... and judging by the quality of the delicious sweet treats, we think they’re onto something.

Bled Castle Restaurant

Lake Bled, Slovenia

While many people would relish a table overlooking the iconic Lake Bled castle, having a delicious dinner or lunch from inside the castle is even better.

Built in 1011, Bled Castle has been lovingly restored and holds a museum of Slavic history, exploring the tumultuous story that the castle holds over the course of 1,000 years.

With its vantage point from the top of the precarious cliff overlooking Bled, the lake and the mountains beyond, it’s understandable why anyone would want to build their castle in such a beautiful location. Even more understandable why anyone would want to establish a delicious restaurant on the site too!

Rated again and again as an outstanding restaurant with attentive staff, delicious food, and of course that stunning view across Lake Bled and the Julian Alps towards Bohinj, guests just keep on returning. The perfect location for a special birthday, anniversary, and the castle even lends itself as a wedding venue as well.
