Ratings/reviewsClick for full ratings

Owned by the Hochfilzer family since 1832, this is one of Ellmau’s most popular hotels thanks to Ingrid and her team who cannot do enough for their guests. With an ideal central location, it is a traditional hotel with high standards of comfort and a welcoming Tyrolean ambience.

The catering is highly rated by Inghams guests. Leisure facilities are superb and an extensive programme of activities including guided walks and mountain picnics runs regularly. Visit the indoor heated swimming pool, the Finnish sauna or the brine stream bath. The panorama sauna and outdoor whirlpool offer fantastic views of the Wilder Kaiser – an oasis of relaxation and a perfect way to spend an afternoon. For wine lovers, Hotel Hochfilzer has a great wine cellar and popular weekly wine tastings are available to book locally.

The hotel boasts well-equipped and comfortable bedrooms. Many have balcony for taking in the idyllic mountain setting.

Ellmau

Ellmau is a pretty village located between the rolling green slopes of the Kitzbüheler Alps and the craggy Wilder Kaiser (Wild Emperor) mountains. With a strong farming history, it is still full of local character and tradition. Close to Ellmau, Scheffau enjoys panoramic views of the Wilder Kaiser Mountains. Set mid-way between Innsbruck and Salzburg, Ellmau is an ideal starting point for many excursions and evening entertainment includes a weekly street market and brass band concert. The area is particularly well suited to families, with attractions such as Elmi's huge adventure park, "Kaiserbad" swimming pool in Ellmau and "Hexenwasser" a fascinating Austria's longest barefoot path in neighbouring Soll.

In Ellmau you'll have a one of our rep's in resort who will know the local area and can assist you with any queries.
