The hotel is located in a perfect harbour location which is the core of the city, in a landmark historical building. Icelandair Marina is in the same neighbourhood as the iconic Harpa Concert Hall, and stepping out of the hotel you will find yourself straight into world-class restaurants, cafes, shops and galleries that Reykjavik has to offer – all with the backdrop of Mount Esja over the bay.

The lobby area of the hotel has a friendly atmosphere with cosy chairs to relax in, right by the fireplace. Slippbarinn is known for starting the cocktail culture in Reykjavik, focusing on high-quality fresh cocktails, along with serving many other drinks and a vast food menu. There are even regular events here such as live music, comedy shows and film screenings. Visit between 3 and 6pm to take advantage of the Happy Hour!

Each room in this hotel have been designed and decorated with as much thought and attention to detail as the rest of the hotel. Having a beautiful mix between Icelandic and maritime unique design.

  • Superior Rooms are more spacious, with a sofa, and all have a view over the ocean and Esja Mountain. Superior Rooms can either be twin or king beds so please request the bed configuration at time of booking (on request)

The capital of Iceland and the entry point for the majority of visitors, Reykjavík provides a great city break and start to any Iceland trip. Visit the Solfar Sun Voyager and spot Mount Esja at dawn or dusk. Shop and dine in the Old Harbour - Iceland’s food scene is highly regarded and there’s plenty of choice for seafood lovers. The Blue Lagoon is also a must, geothermally heated waters filled with natural minerals, algae and silica to cure any wellbeing and relaxation cravings. Walks and cycle paths are also plentiful both in and on the outskirts of Reykjavík where nature is on the doorstep. There are an array of bars in the Laugavegur district for any budding night owl.

  • Golden Circle Tour – The Golden Circle has been one of the most popular among visitors as you can see some of Iceland’s most beautiful natural wonders in one area. Being able to see Gullfoss waterfall, the famous Geysir geyser and the Thingvellir National Park.

  • Whale Watching – Spotting the whales in their natural surroundings and popular area for whales to congregate is a truly incredible experience. Seeing a whale up close is a sight to remember, as well as the whales you will have some spectacular views of Reykjavik. The experienced guides you will have on this tour will share their array of knowledge and interesting facts on the whales, as well as their old sea stories.

  • Lava Horse Riding Tour – Take an adventurous ride on a unique Icelandic Horse around Mount Helgafell or Lake Hvaleyrarvatn, through lava fields. Enjoy the riding qualities of the Icelandic Horse and specifically the tolt gait as you look around at many different rock formations. There will be a few stops along the way, and the riding tour will be around 1.5 – 2 hours.

Optional Blue Lagoon excursion

This infamous Blue Lagoon is a place on many peoples bucket list and when visiting Reykjavik the lagoon is really not to be missed. The geothermal seawater is full of natural minerals and is proven to be extremely good for the skin. After experiencing the mineral–rich warm waters there is also the café and Lava Restaurant in which you can enjoy.
