Lake Levico Holidays

Peaceful Alpine lake encircled by lush forests, hiking and cycling trails

One of Italy’s cleanest lakes, Blue Flag accredited Lake Levico is an un-spoilt thermal spa resort known for its crystal clear waters. More peaceful and less developed than its glamorous neighbour Garda, Levico has lots to offer. Surrounded by mountains and lush woodlands, Lake Levico is a popular destination for hiking and cycling. From a gentle and shaded walk around the lake to scaling the nearby mountains to visit forts from WWI there are hikes to suit all abilities. Levico is a cycling paradise due to the numerous mountain bike trails in the surrounding hills and mountains as well as the Valsugana cycle path which stretches 80km down the valley towards Bassano del Grappa. The Valsugana cycle path runs alongside a train line and so makes returning home easy. Ideal for guests looking to relax, Levico Terme is a historic, thermal resort and as such offers a chance to rest and recuperate; from mineral filled water, thermal spas and lakeside beaches to the town’s beautiful arboretum.

Inghams operate a telephone Rep service in Lake Levico.

Added value

All hotels on Lake Levico offer a Valsugana Card which operates from mid-May until the end of season (Please note dates and offers are subject to change)

Things To Do

Festival Dell'uva (5 - 9 September)

In the heart of Levico Terme each September, local wineries come together for the 'celebrazione dell'uva' or the celebration of the grape. Detailing the history of the regional viticulture from the ancient times to modern day practice, this is every wine aficionados dream! As well as the chance to sample local wines, there are food markets, live music, theatrical performances and even wine painting stalls to keep you occupied on the shores of Levico.

Lake Levico is the perfect place for lovers of walking with an excellent variety of hikes for all abilities. Below are a couple of suggestions but many more walks are available locally through the Levico Tourist Office. Please note that some walks involve reasonable transport costs.

Fisherman’s Path / 45 mins each way / Easy

This shaded and easy stroll along the banks of the lake allows walkers to take in superb views of the lake and its surroundings. Discover Levico’s flora and fauna with this walk suitable for all ages and abilities. Following the eastern shore of the lake along the affectionately named ‘Fisherman’s path’ is a great start to walking in Levico. A full circuit of the lake will take around 3 hrs to complete.

Benne Fortress / 2-3 hrs / Moderate

Simple walking route around the Colle delle Benne to see an Austro-Hungarian fort built in the 1880s. About 2km from the centre of Levico Terme, the fort is on a hilltop with excellent views over Lake Levico. Return to Levico Terme via a scenic path which joins the lake at Barucchelli.

You can combine your stay in Lake Levico with 3, 4 or 7 nights in Venice, Verona, Lake Garda or with a stay in the Dolomites.
