Ratings/reviewsClick for full ratings

The Hotel Brakanes is set in its own tranquil gardens, and enjoys a wonderfully peaceful setting with spectacular vistas across this inlet of the Hardangerfjord. The hotel is just a few minutes from the village centre (100 metres), a perfect location to wander around this quaint village.

There is a terrace and conservatory which is the perfect place to enjoy the mesmerising fjord views with a drink from the bar in hand. We recommend on the beautiful summers day, wandering through the spacious gardens to lay on a sun lounger for an extremely relaxing afternoon, whilst still having the Hardangerfjord in sight.

The hotel boasts an indoor swimming pool, hot tub and sauna. All the hotel rooms have lovely views, but our guests particularly enjoy the fjord view rooms, as they also have a balcony. Having breakfast and dinner included in your stay is great as the food is more than standard hotel food, with them working extremely closely to provide locally sourced meals, and there's also complimentary after dinner tea and coffee available.

Some of Ulvik's marked hiking trails go straight from this hotel. Letting you to really enjoy the impressive Hardangerfjord setting and its fruit trees - it’s no wonder this hotel is one of Norway’s top fjord hotels.

Ulvik

Ulvik is a picturesque village that's on a sheltered bay of the Hardangerfjord, with its wooden houses against a scenic mountain backdrop. The village is also known as the Orchard of Norway which, of course, is because o the amount of fruit trees, You'll be able to try some of the delicious fresh products when visiting one of the many local farms.

There's a network of walking paths, some through the wild flow meadows, so this village is great for walkers. As well as walking there's cycling, boating and fishing in Ulvik, but your favourite part will be the scenery reflecting into the crystal clear water.
