Located in the Alpe Cimbra region at the base of the Dolomites these towns make fantastic bases to enjoy the many activities available with some wonderful walks and trails for cycling and E-biking. While the scenery is often as stunning as the dolomites the lower altitude and smaller peaks make for some very accessible walking for all abilities. The Gorge of the Wolf - Serrada near Folgaria
4.8km / 2 hrs
The gorge of the Wolf is a long trench dug by the
Austro-Hungarians from World War I which goes from the
Fort to Serrada. It was discovered in 2014 and thanks to
photographs from the war taken by an Austrian officer
groups of volunteers marked out the area and made into a
walking trail. The trail is 4.8km in length at an altitude of
400 metres and is dug between high rock walls, made up
of bolt-holes, observatories and caves that overlook
spectacular cliffs. The Gorge of the Wolf can only be seen
when on a guided tour.
The Breath of the Trees - near Lavarone
5.6km / 2 hrs
The breath of the trees is a path which takes you through
the woods with pieces of art on the route; it is the
brainchild of Giampaolo Osele. It is in the north-western
part of the plateau of Lavarone and it consists of a series
of works of art made from wood, trees and other 'pieces of
nature' which are in places that have sweeping panoramic
views on the valley of the Centa and high Valsugana. It is
an exhibition of Art Outdoor made by both Italian artists
and artists of different nationalities started in 2001.
