Located in the heart of Chamonix, this informal, friendly hotel is perfect for enjoying the bustling resort. The Gustavia is a fine choice for a good value holiday with a relaxed atmosphere and great, varied food.

The hotel's original façade and tower have been impressively restored in 2017.

The nearby transport links provide an opportunity to easily access and see the rest of the valley and the Montenvers rack and pinion railway. The adventure park and toboganning run are also close by, as are the resort's many shops, museums, restaurants, cinema and sports centre with outdoor pool.

The buffet breakfast and set 3 course evening meal are taken in either the dining room or the informal Chambre 9 (low season) which is an atmospheric lounge bar and restaurant both located on the ground floor of the property.

The comfortable twin rooms have shower, hairdryer, telephone and TV. Rooms with balcony and Mont Blanc views and single rooms are available at a supplement, as are the newly renovated superior double rooms. Some rooms can take an extra bed for a child up to 12 years.

Chamonix

The dazzling snow cap of Mont Blanc, Western Europe’s highest mountain, is a magnificent backdrop to the colourful resort of Chamonix and its smaller, but very attractive neighbour, Les Houches. From relaxing strolls to challenging hikes, this ideal walking country offers something for everyone.

The huge choice of outdoor activities (see our excursions tab) includes rafting, parapenting, mountain biking, climbing, horse riding and summer tobogganing. In Chamonix, there is also a superb adventure park, a sports centre and a wonderful 18 hole golf course in Le Praz and mini-golf.

Offering a wide range of shops, cafés, bars and restaurants, Chamonix also has a cinema, casino and nightclubs. Take a trip up the spectacular Aiguille du Midi, one of Europe’s highest cable-cars, or a ride on the famous rack railway to 6,200ft to admire the stunning Mer de Glace glacier. For those looking to beat the crowds, spend an unforgettable night in the Refuge du Montenvers, sitting on the top of the Mer de Glace.

The Chamonix Valley Card is provided by your hotel upon arrival and offers free bus and train travel in the Chamonix Valley and reductions on many other services. The Mont Blanc Multipass is also available and provides a great value option for those wanting to explore numerous peaks using the in resort lift system.
