Trains from the UK to Italy

Cinque Terre in Italy

Travelling from London to Italy by train is easy thanks to services from Eurostar to Paris and from Voyages SNCF onwards to Italy. From Paris, daytime services include a journey to Milan or a high-speed train that travels through the Swiss Alps to Lake Como or Lake Maggiore. Overnight services depart from Paris in the early evening and arrive into Italy by morning. Cabins are available with two or three berths and they come equipped with a wash basin.

Trenitalia’s great network of high-speed rail routes makes touring Italy a breeze. Major cities are all connected, from Turin all the way down to Salerno, and this is the best and most comfortable way to get between them. Services are frequent and carriages well equipped. You’ll be assigned a seat and have plenty of leg room to sit back and relax on your journey. If you book first class you’ll even be treated to a glass of prosecco as you embark.

All our rail holidays depart London on Eurostar between 7am and 9am. And we include a Paris Metro ticket for your short hop between Paris Gard du Nord and your relevant Paris terminal.

For Switzerland

Resorts: All resorts and multicentre holidays in Switzerland 

Departures: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday

Supplements (return) from: Standard Class £45; Standard Premier Class: £125

Travel from London to Paris on Eurostar and then on TGV to your resort, arriving between 6pm and 9pm the same day. Standard Premier Class includes travel on Eurostar and 1st class travel on TGV. If you wish to continue in first class on the Swiss rail network, an additional supplement of £35pp applies. In Standard Premier and 1st class TGV, meals and drinks are included appropriate to the time of day.

For France

Resorts: Annecy and Talloires

Departures: Wednesday and Saturday

Supplements (return) from: Standard Class £10; Standard Premier Class £60

Travel from Paris Gare de Lyon by TGV to Annecy arriving at approximately 5.30pm the same day. At Annecy a taxi will be waiting to take you to your hotel. Standard Premier Class includes travel on Eurostar and 1st class travel on TGV to Annecy. Meals and drinks are included on Standard Premier Class on the Eurostar only.

For Italy

Resorts: Baveno and Stresa on Lake Maggiore

Departures: Wednesday and Saturday

Supplements (return) from: Standard Class £45; Standard Premier Class from £125*

Travel from Paris Gare de Lyon by TGV to Geneva where you change trains for Stresa. Guests arrive in Lake Como at approximately 9.30pm and a taxi transfer to your hotel is included. Standard Premier Class includes travel by Eurostar from London to Paris and first class travel to your final rail stop. On the Eurostar and 1st class TGV, meals and drinks are included appropriate to the time of day.
