The Minareto is located in the beautiful Plemmirio Marine Reserve. It's a unique position at the tip of a promontory that overlooks Latomie Bay and the historic centre of Syracuse. You can get to the centre by car or shuttle (at set times), but the hotel has it’s own private boat service (payable locally) if you fancy hoping across the water to explore the city.
There’s loads to see and do in the area and the hotel has range of activities that you can book and pay for locally like bike tours, yoga classes, snorkelling, fishing and excursions to Ortigia, Taormina and Mount Etna. Plus wine and food experiences like cooking classes and street food tours. Just chat to the friendly staff here, they’ll have some great recommendations for you.
On one side of the resort you’ll find the Minareto’s private beach - a sandy bay with crystal clear waters, equipped with sun loungers and parasols. On the other side, which is rockier, there’s a solarium on the cliffs. We love listening the soothing sounds of the waves crashing against the rocks from up here. If you prefer a fresh water dip, head to the centre of the resort where there’s a pool. In the evening the terrace comes into its own, Out here you can relax in one of the wooden huts with a drink from the bar or hop in the whirlpool and watch as the sun goes down over the water.
The comfortable rooms are tastefully finished in a sophisticated style. Upgrade to a superior sea view room to make the most of the hotel’s spectacular location. They’re passionate about food here so whether you’re just staying for breakfast or have opted for half board, you’re in for a treat. It’s all made fresh, using local ingredients from Sicily.
