Itinerary
Day 1: UK to Milan
Arrive in Milan and take a transfer to your centrally-located hotel. Check in, unpack your bags and head straight into the city for a look around.
Days 2-3: Milan
There's so much to see and do in Milan. Visiting the Duomo is a must - stay outside and admire the architecture from the piazza or head inside. You can even climb to the roof for some pretty impressive views across the city. The Galleria Vittoria Emanuale is just next door. This is the world's oldest shopping mall and well worth a visit.
The museums here are ever changing and the galleries house some of the world's most famous pieces - The Last Supper calls Milan its home. Opera's pretty big here too with the Scala Theatre putting on impressive shows throughout the year. Our favourite Milan pastime is aperitivo - it was invented here so you can't leave without experiencing it.
Day 4: Milan to Lake Como
Today you'll be heading north to Lake Como, Italy's most glamorous lake. The journey will take around an hour and a half.
Days 5-10: Lake Como
Lake Como looks almost like a painting. The waters are ink blue and back-dropped by a dramatic mountain scene. Our favourite way to explore is by boat. Jump on a ferry and make your way between resorts or release your inner James Bond and opt for a speedboat trip up the lake. You'll spot lots of grand villas on the shore - visit Villa Balbienello to see the manicured gardens and framed lake views.
The towns are great to stop off in for lunch. Our favourite is Bellagio where there's lots of restaurants and shops to visit. Quieter resorts like Lenno have their own charm too and are a great option for escaping the crowds.
Day 11: Lake Como to UK
Wave goodbye to the lake, maybe squeezing in one last coffee by the water, before taking a transfer to Milan airport for your journey home.
