Day 1 (Wednesdays or Saturdays)

 Arrive in Switzerland and take the scenic rail transfer to Montreux (approx. 1¼ hours from Geneva, 3¼ hours from Zurich). Meet your Inghams Representative.

Day 2 (Thursday or Sunday)

Montreux is well placed for exploring the Lake Geneva region. Perhaps take a morning stroll along the flower-lined promenade and stop at one of the many lakeside cafés for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy an optional visit to the historic Château de Chillon castle.

Day 3 (Friday or Monday)

Today head into the mountains and explore the UNESCO Lavaux vineyard terraces or take an optional trip on the Chocolate Train to La Maison du Gruyère, see the production of this famous Swiss cheese before continuing to Cailler’s chocolate world (11 night tour). Alternatively, visit Charlie Chaplin’s World in Vevey dedicated to Chaplin's on-screen work (optional).

Day 4 (Saturday or Tuesday)

Guests staying 10 nights travel to Wengen via the scenic Golden Pass Line (Montreux to Interlaken, approx. 3 hours) – the crowning highlight of your holiday, 11 night guests have one extra night in Montreux.

Day 5 (Sunday or Wednesday)

Guests staying 11 nights travel to Wengen via the scenic GoldenPass Line for their 3 night stay (connecting train from Interlaken to Wengen approx. 40 minutes). There is plenty to see but a ‘must do’ trip is an optional journey to see Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO-World Heritage Site via railway from Kleine Scheidegg to the highest railway station in Europe - Jungfrau Joch at 3,454m (11,332ft).

Day 6 (Monday or Thursday)

Wengen’s walking area is opened up by numerous mountain lifts and many easy walks start directly from the village.

Day 7 (Tuesday or Friday)

Perhaps take a full day trip to Trümmelbach Falls - Europe's largest subterranean waterfalls but watch out for the spray! Alternatively purchase a lift ticket through your Inghams Rep and hike from Grindelwald to Bussalp for spectacular views of the Jungfrau Mountain range.

Day 8 (Wednesday or Saturday)

Transfer to Lake Constance today to either the lakeside town of Constance or the quiet rural Island of Reichenau for a 3 or 4 night stay (approx. 4½ hours, change of train required). Meet your Inghams Rep.

Day 9 (Thursday or Sunday)

Lake Constance’s most famous site is Mainau Island with its impressive floral displays, take an optional boat journey and visit its Butterfly House (entrance fees apply). Otherwise, explore the UNESCO ‘Village on Stilts’ at Unteruhldingen.

Day 10 (Friday or Monday)

Enjoy a full day optional trip to Schaffhausen and the Rhine Falls by boat.

Day 11 (Saturday or Tuesday)

Guests staying 10 nights depart to Zurich airport (approx. 1½ hours) for your flight home otherwise continue your holiday in Lake Constance).

Day 12 (Sunday or Wednesday)

Guests staying 11 nights transfer to Zurich airport for your flight home.
