Inghams top tip -

  • Consider the type of accommodation you would like to choose for your stay in Lapland - From hotels, where you can opt for full-board dining, to cosy cabins & lodges where you can enjoy fireplaces and home-made meals or self-catering apartments where you will have a home-from-home.

What are the top Lapland Adventure activities?

You can easily fill a week full of activities in Lapland, and if you wanted to - you can choose to enjoy them all. Though sometimes, you do need to consider who you are travelling with and what suit your weeks worth of exploring - either gentle reindeer sleigh-rides with small children or an ice-karting compeition with your group of friends.

The huskies are always animated and ready to go. As soon as they are harnessed to their sleds, the sound of excited barking fills the air. The huskies are in their element as the sled glides across the pristine snow.

After some essential instruction you and your team of huskies will be on your way. Keeping in line along the trails, speeding through the wilderness and weaving through the deep forest in the low winter sun.

Our husky excursions have been tailor-made to suit all ages, experience and fitness levels. With the shorter safaris being the most popular, there are also longer half-day trips and an evening safari in search of the Northern Lights.

An occasion you will never forget.

Husky Safari

Husky safaris -

  • Energetic, memorable and brilliant for families and groups.

Visiting a local reindeer farm gives you an evocative picture of the traditional lifestyle, in which reindeer play a central part. You will hear great stories from your hosts and learn all about the reindeer, including their fondness for mushrooms.

Ride in a reindeer sleigh through the snowy fells and forests, which feels as if you have entered the secret world of Narnia through a magic wardrobe. At least until your reindeer decides to pause for a snack on some tasty lichen under the snow... some do have a stubborn streak.

Either way, you can get close to one of our (and Santa’s) favourite animals - something not to be missed!

Reindeer Activities

Reindeer rides & Sami experiences -

  • Cultural, gentle and perfect for younger children.

Experience an exhilarating ride through the breath-taking arctic scenery, changing from deep pine forests, fells, moorland, to the wide open expanses of frozen lakes and rivers.

You will be kitted out in some serious winter gear, including complete thermal suits and boots, thick gloves and insulated helmets. With the surprisingly easy to drive snowmobiles you will be on your trip in no time. Pausing for a break halfway through to really take in the snowy wilderness that is around you.

Choosing from daytime and evening safaris, there is a snowmobile safari for everyone to enjoy.

Snowmobile Safari

Snowmobiling -

  • Available at all four resorts; a top choice for thrill-seekers.

Set back from Levi and equipped with thermal glass roofs, you'll have the best chance of spotting the Northern Lights in the arctic night sky on this overnight stay. You can choose between staying in the Superior Igloos situated on the side of the fell or the Prime Superior Igloos facing the forest and valley. For a truly unforgettable stay, Suite Igloos with a private terrace and jacuzzi are available upon request.

Booking and packing tips

  • Book activities early - Ideally when confirming your holiday, select to pre-book the activities you want to enjoy while on holiday.
  • Layer up - when packing your suitcases for Lapland, consider lots of layers. From thermal baselayers, warm midlayers to winder proof outerlayers. Plus make sure to pack your gloves, scaves and hats.
  • Capturing the Northern Lights - Eather natural light show truly is spectacular and if you want to try and capture the moment, it is best to take a good camera and ideally a tripod.
  • It does get dark - be prepared for shorter day-light hours when visiting Lapland in the winter months.

When to visit Lapland?

The best time to visit Lapland is between December and February. This is ideal for reliable snow-related activities and stronger chances of spotting the Northern Lights. Plus, late-January to mid-February gives you longer daylight for daytime skiing (however, most runs are floodlit so you time won't be cut short).
