It's a small, laid-back village right on the doorstep of Pyhä-Luosto National Park, so you're perfectly placed for everything Lapland is famous for (with its natural beauty being top of the list). Spend your time in the great outdoors – hit the slopes or head off-grid on some Arctic adventures. Wander through untouched forests on a pair of snowshoes or even dig for gems in one of Lapland's only working amethyst mines. It's the perfect set-up for an unforgettable week in the Arctic Circle.
Home to brilliant pastel polar skies, this is the place for incredible sunrises and sunsets. Since there's zero light pollution, you've front-row seats for the Northern Lights, too. With a great range of accommodation options, plenty of activities to keep you busy and easy-going ski runs, it's a perfect all-rounder for families and friends who want a proper Lappish experience without the fuss.

Want to ski in Pyhä?
Whether you're a total beginner or a seasoned pro, Pyhä has it all.
If you're just starting out, you'll love how Pyhä looks after you. Most of the fell is designed specifically for new skiers, so you'll have plenty of wide, gentle slopes to find your ski legs at your own pace. If you live for the rush, Pyhä's terrain gets serious fast. Test your limits on the famous black slopes of Piste Palander (known for its steep pitch and world-class grooming) or venture off the beaten path into the marked backcountry trails that weave through the rugged fells.
The Arctic scenery follows you everywhere you go. If you prefer a slower rhythm, step onto the 150km of groomed cross-country trails that wind through silent, snow-caked forests and across frozen marshlands. And when you need a break? You’re never far from a warm-up - there’s always a cosy café just around the corner.

Beginner skiing and snowboarding in Pyhä
If you're just starting out, you'll love how Pyhä looks after you. Most of the fell is designed specifically for new skiers, so you'll have plenty of wide, gentle slopes to find your ski legs at your own pace. Start your ski journey in the Family Adventure Area - it's a dedicated space with easy-access lifts made for building confidence. As you find your rhythm, you'll move onto the gentle blue runs nearby. Expert instructors are always on hand, too, ready to help you level up your skills in no time.
Intermediate skiing and snowboarding in Pyhä
Expect wide, open blue runs and plenty of space to yourself - the ideal stage for perfecting your turns. When you're ready to dial it up, take on the handful of red runs or test your edge control on the two steeper black runs. But the real showstopper? The scenery. As you cruise down the fell, you're treated to staggering Arctic views that make every run feel like a scene from a movie.
Advanced skiing and snowboarding in Pyhä
Ready for a challenge? Pyhä delivers. Put your skills to the test on the legendary Piste Palander - it's a former World Cup run and a serious badge of honour. For a rawer challenge, head to Huttu-ukko, the only ungroomed slope in the area - the terrain is steep and the powder stays deep. And when the lifts aren't enough, the backcountry here is massive. It's a true playground for anyone looking to leave the piste behind and drop into the untouched wilderness.
Cross-country skiing in Pyhä
With over 150km of groomed trails spanning Pyhä and Luosto, you’ve got a massive Arctic playground to explore. If you're just finding your rhythm, start with the lovely easy loops around the village. Along the way, you’ll spot a handful of cosy cafes that are perfect for hot chocolate pit-stops - Ski Cage Suonmukka is a personal favourite of ours. Feeling ambitious? Take on the 35km trek over to Luosto. It’s a spectacular challenge and the best part is you can just hop on the SkiBus for a relaxed ride back.
