About Hotel Pyhatunturi

You really can't beat the location at Hotel Pyhätunturi. Found right on the edge of the National Park, the wilderness is yours to explore – and for skiers and snowboarders, the slopes are right outside your door. Thanks to its central location, you'll fill your week with winter excursions, carve up fresh tracks and soak in the incredible views without any logistical fuss.

Rooms at the Pyhätunturi Hotel are the ultimate Scandinavian basecamp, blending modern style with everything you need to fuel your Arctic adventure. Once you've wrapped up the day's activities, chuck your socks and mittens in the drying cupboard and head to the communal sauna to unwind before dinner. Back in your room, the massive windows provide panoramic views of the national park, so you can soak in the raw beauty of Lapland without having to put your snow boots back on.

Forget about the cooking and washing up: breakfast and dinner are included each day. Since Lapland is famous for its chilly climate, what better way to start the day than with a hearty breakfast buffet? Think hot dishes, fresh pastries and all the coffee you’ll need before stepping out into the snow. After a day in the wilderness, head back for a three-course feast featuring warming soups, fresh local fish and delicious sweet treats.

The Hotel Pyhätunturi is the ideal base for your Lapland Adventure. Conveniently located right next to the ski slopes, you are just a snowball's throw from the lifts. Each day, you can easily access the ski lifts via the red Polar 4 slope or the green Skiway slope near the Family Slopes.

At the end of the day, you can virtually ski right back to the hotel door on the black-graded Piste Palander slope that runs right alongside the property. The Pyhä Family Adventure slope area is right next to the hotel, so beginners can practise their turns and techniques on the gentle slopes.

The Pyhätunturi Hotel is offered on bed & breakfast with optional half board upgrade.

Each morning you can enjoy a tasty breakfast buffet with a range of sweet and savoury options.

If you want to take the fuss out of dinner times, why not upgrade to half board? You can enjoy a tasty a three course evening meal (served or buffet style) is served in the Camp Kitchen restaurant.

  • This is a group experience, travelling together with other guests, and it operates in all weather conditions.

Head on an exhilarating adventure through Lappish nature on a snowmobile safari. The incredible scenery through the snow-covered forests, frozen fells and arctic lakes will take your breath away. There is no better way to speed around the Arctic than on a snowmobile - a great way to have some fun and see all that Lapland has to offer.  

Duration: 2 hours

  • All drivers must be aged 18 or over and must bring a full, valid photographic driving licence to the excursion. Snowmobiling is a physically demanding activity, so participants should have a reasonable level of fitness to take part.
  • Children must be aged 13 or above and at least 140cm tall to ride as a passenger on a snowmobile, they must be able to touch the foot rest when sat on the snowmobile. Children under this height or aged 5-11yrs will be towed in a sled or pod (unheated) behind the guide. It is not possible for infants (aged 0-4 years) to take part in this excursion.
  • Single riders who have purchased a sharing snowmobile may be required to upgrade locally to a single-driving snowmobile if no sharing snowmobiles are available.
Snowmobiles
From £165 per adult/ £120 per child

Feel the thrill of adventure as you head on a husky sleigh ride through the enchanting Lappish landscape. You will go on a husky ride with a team of eager dogs as you rush past stunning Arctic landscape, whether it's glistening snow covered forests, expansive tundras as far as the eye can see or over frozen lakes, this is an adventure not to be missed. For this safari, you will drive the sleigh.

Duration: 2 hours

  • This is a self‑driven husky safari. Each husky team is usually shared by two adults or one adult and two children: one adult will drive the sleigh, and the other(s) will ride as a passenger
  • Guests must be at least 18 years old and in good physical condition to drive the sled. It is not possible to arrange for a guide to drive the sled.
  • This excursion is available for children aged 4–12 years. 
  • Single riders who have booked a sharing husky‑sled option may be required to upgrade locally to a single‑driver sled if no sharing sleds are available.
Husky Rides
From £125 per adult/ £85 per child

Visit an authentic reindeer farm, where you’ll learn all about these gentle arctic animals and their importance to Sami culture. Warm up with a traditional soup lunch before heading out on a serene sleigh ride through snowy forests, guided by a Sami guide and their reindeer. 

Duration: 2.5 hours

  • Children must be over the age of 3 to take part in this excursion. Infants 0-2 years are not permitted.
Reindeer Rides
From £62 per adult/ £41 per child

Learn the fundamentals of cross-country skiing with the support of an experienced guide, surrounded by Finland’s pristine winter landscapes. Before setting off, your guide will choose scenic ski tracks that match the group’s skill level. Throughout the session, you’ll receive clear guidance and practical tips to help you improve and make the most of the snowy trails. Small group sizes ensure plenty of personal attention, allowing everyone to enjoy the peaceful beauty of the Finnish outdoors while learning new skills.
