Ratings/reviewsClick for full ratings

Hotel Europa is one of the friendliest hotels in Limone and the staff will go out of their way to make sure you have a good holiday. This is why so many people return year after year. The location's good as you’re only around a ten-minute walk from the centre of town – although you’ll have to walk up a steep hill to get back to the hotel, so it might not be suitable if you have walking difficulties. Once you’re in Limone there’s plenty to do including trying some local food, getting lost in the cobbled streets or jumping on a ferry to one of the lake’s other resorts.

The views from the hotel are fantastic – the lake goes on forever and there are mountains all around. The hotel’s restaurant is a great place to enjoy them, especially if you grab a table outside. Dinner here is lovely and the hotel uses vegetables grown in their own garden and traditional ingredients like olive oil infused with lemons. A small pool is located next to the terrace and loungers are shaded by palm trees. It’s a fantastic spot to just lay back and enjoy some peace and quiet.

Transfer time: approx. 2 hours 15 mins by coach from Verona airport.

Limone

Limone is one of the best resorts for hiking on Lake Garda. It’s right at the bottom of the mountain and steep, cobbled streets throughout the town lead up to some fantastic viewpoints. There’s nothing better than taking an early morning walk and enjoying uninterrupted views over the lake from your quiet vantage point. For the more serious hikers, there’s around 70 trails to choose from of varying lengths and difficulties. Grab your boots and set of early – don’t forget to take your camera!

What to see on a Limone holiday

If walking isn’t your thing, there’s still plenty of reasons to pick Limone as your base. The town is beautiful with colourful buildings and vibrant lakeside promendade. During the summer the evenings come alive with live music concerts in the square. There’s also regular ferries to other towns so exploring Lake Garda is easy. Limone is filled with traditional restaurants using the lemons that grow all around. Take a visit to Limonaia Del Castel to learn about the town’s history with this citrus fruit.

Things to Do

Things to see and do

Limone’s not too far from Malcesine so we recommend hopping onto a ferry and visiting the town. Make sure you head up Monte Baldo if you’re a fan of walking and great views! Riva is easy to get to, too. There’s lots of little nooks to explore in Limone. The Church of Saint Rocco is a hidden gem. We love visiting the oil mill for some tastings.

Food & drink

Limone is filled with traditional restaurants using the lemons that grow all around. Take a visit to Limonaia Del Castel to learn about the town’s history with the citrus fruit. The restaurants and bars on Limone’s promenade really come alive in the evening. It’s a great place to enjoy a slow dinner.

Activities

There are so many trails in and around Limone – from flat routes along the lakeside to more challenging climbs that take you up into the mountains. Our favourite is the walk to Punta dei Larici. It takes you along the lake and when you get to the top, the views are incredible. Keep an eye out for the guided walks offered by the tourist office. They normally run between June and September.
