Hotel Cristina is made up of five villas and a main building, they spread out across the hillside above Limone. What we love most about this hotel are the rooms we have exclusively for Inghams guests. They're all on the upper floors of the villas or main building and come with furnished balconies that face the lake. Having tea and coffee making facilities in the room is also great. Imagine sitting out on the balcony - morning cuppa in hand, incredible views across Lake Garda and leisurely deciding how you'll spend your day.

Limone's centre is a 15 minute down hill walk from the hotel - Part of the walk is quite steep on they way back up so it may not be suitable if you have walking difficulties. But don't worry too much about that because the hotel run a shuttle service, for a small local fee, there and back at scheduled times during the day. We enjoyed the walk down, but sometimes opted for a lift back up especially after a day exploring the lake. Malcesine is just a short ferry hop to the other side of Lake Garda, its a really nice trip. The ferry point is just in town so it couldn't be easier to get there and back. Look out for wind surfers and kite surfers on the lake - the north of the lake is renowned for this kind of water sport, so if your not doing it yourself, its fun to watch!

Another nice thing about staying here is that it's part of the Parc Hotel Italia group, which means you can use some of the facilities of the nearby sister hotels. Like the Terrazza pool and bar, which are shared with the Hotel San Pietro next door. The grill bar here is a really good spot for lunch - the do tasty little pizzas that we couldn't resist. This is where they have free tea and biscuits between 4 -5pm each day too. This is the perfect pick me up in the afternoon if you've been out seeing other resorts on the lake. Then there's the pebble beach at Hotel Leonardo da Vinci, where you can use the sun loungers and have a refreshing swim in the lake. Our favourite spot here has to be beside Hotel Cristina's own pool though, mainly because of the great views.

Transfer time: approx. 2 hours 15 mins by coach from Verona airport.

Limone

Limone is one of the best resorts for hiking on Lake Garda. It’s right at the bottom of the mountain and steep, cobbled streets throughout the town lead up to some fantastic viewpoints. There’s nothing better than taking an early morning walk and enjoying uninterrupted views over the lake from your quiet vantage point. For the more serious hikers, there’s around 70 trails to choose from of varying lengths and difficulties. Grab your boots and set of early – don’t forget to take your camera!

If walking isn’t your thing, there’s still plenty of reasons to pick Limone as your base. The town is beautiful with colourful buildings and vibrant lakeside promendade. During the summer the evenings come alive with live music concerts in the square. There’s also regular ferries to other towns so exploring Lake Garda is easy. Limone is filled with traditional restaurants using the lemons that grow all around. Take a visit to Limonaia Del Castel to learn about the town’s history with this citrus fruit.

Pools & Beaches

The pool at Hotel Cristina is on a terrace that overlooks the lake. It's surrounded by plenty of sun loungers and parasols, so you'll be able to find the perfect spot to enjoy the views after you've had a dip in the pool. La Terezza is the second, and larger pool, that's shared with the Hotel San Pietro. There's a bar beside it so you can keep topped up with refreshments all day. You'll also be able to use the indoor pools at Hotel San Pietro, just next door and Hotel Leonardo da Vinci, down on the lakefront. Pool towels are provided free of charge.

If you'd prefer to swim in the lake you can use the the private pebble beach at the nearby Hotel Leonardo da Vinci, another hotel one of the Parc Hotels Italia chain which is about 800 metres away. The use of sunbeds here is subject to availability, but if you're heading down early, you're pretty much guaranteed a nice spot on the lake shore.

Shuttle

The hotel operates a shuttle service at fixed times, for a local charge, to the centre of Limone, so if you don't fancy the walk back up the hill after a day of exploring, you don't have to worry.

An extensive buffet breakfast is prepared each morning in La Cristina Restaurant with a good selection of cereals, meat & cheese, toast and hot items such as eggs, beans and tomatoes and hot drinks and juice.

In the afternoon between 4pm and 5pm, head over to La Terrazza Bar, where they serve free hot drinks, cake and biscuits each day. Its a really nice touch - especially if you've been out in town or exploring the lake all day.

On half board you'll have a four course buffet dinner. There's things like soup for starters, a choice of main dishes, a salad bar and various sweets such as cakes, fruit salad and ice cream. One of the best things here is that wine and selected soft drinks are included in the half board package.
