From its tranquil position elevated above Lake Garda and surrounded by verdant gardens and fruit trees, the beautiful Villa La Gardenia & Oleandra offers an exceptionally attentive service. The three villas Gardenia, Oleandra and Zagare that comprise the hotel have been renovated in recent years and are home to simple yet elegant rooms with stunning views of the lake and mountains beyond.

The flourishing gardens in which the villas are settled offer unrivaled panoramic views amongst the palms, olive trees and bougainvillea flowers yet despite this feeling of tranquility and peace, you are just five minutes from the hustle and bustle of Limone centre. The perfect spot for those looking to relax and escape the day to day, Villa La Gardenia & Oleandra has a spectcular pool and sun terrace where you can bask in the mountain sun as you gaze out over the cyan waters of Lake Garda. There is also a private path from the hotel which leads to a waterfall and incredible viewing spot (please note the route takes around one hour but there are places to sit along the way).  Guests of the Montagnoli family also have access to the Giardino di Rose spa which is home to a sauna, Jacuzzi, Turkish bath and solarium, perfect after a day of exploring Limone's quaint, cobbled streets.

The elegant dining room spills out onto the terrace overlooking the lake and is where you'll take breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is a rich buffet service with a wide range of both hot and cold options and dinner is a four course affair with a selection of wonderful and traditional Italian cuisine on offer. On one evening each week the owners of the hotel lead a walk through the town which you can join to get some insight and local knowledge of this stunning resort.

Limone is one of the best resorts for hiking on Lake Garda. It’s right at the bottom of the mountain and steep, cobbled streets throughout the town lead up to some fantastic viewpoints. There’s nothing better than taking an early morning walk and enjoying uninterrupted views over the lake from your quiet vantage point. For the more serious hikers, there’s around 70 trails to choose from of varying lengths and difficulties. Grab your boots and set of early – don’t forget to take your camera!

If walking isn’t your thing, there’s still plenty of reasons to pick Limone as your base. The town is beautiful with colourful buildings and vibrant lakeside promendade. During the summer the evenings come alive with live music concerts in the square. There’s also regular ferries to other towns so exploring Lake Garda is easy. Limone is filled with traditional restaurants using the lemons that grow all around. Take a visit to Limonaia Del Castel to learn about the town’s history with this citrus fruit.
