Just a short walk to the main Giggijoch lift which takes you up into the ski area, and also where the ski bus stops for those wanting to spend the day skiing in the Obergurgl ski area.

Sölden offers high altitude skiing, two glaciers, modern lifts, and an excellent snow record, making it a top alpine destination. It is totally unique as a ski area, with three mountains over 3,000 metres and two glaciers, Retttenbach and Tiefenbach, ensuring superb snow conditions and reliability. The 'BIG 3 Rally' loop takes you up to 3,000 metres on a 50km circuit with some unforgettable viewpoints.

Things to do in Solden

You can't beat ice skating amongst alpine scenery. Sölden's ice rink is located at the sports field, just 5 minutes walk from the base station of Gaislachkogl mountain gondola.

In the evening, the ice rink also features atmospheric lighting for some added fun. If you have a competitive streak, they also offer curling and ice hockey equipment.

Want a break from skiing but still chase that exhilarating rush down the mountain? Tobogganing is the answer. The toboggan run leads down from the middle station Gaislachlogl and is 7km long. You can race your way down more than once, so it's an excellent choice to get the whole family involved. 

Sölden has a huge range of winter trails for you to choose from. You can set the pace and choose a route based on your preference and fitness level. With over 49km of trails to explore, all signposted and leading through the snow-covered forests, it is definitely an activity we recommend.

Snow shoeing if a fantastic way to explore the mountains and see some areas even the skiers cannot go. Trudge through the untouched snowy landscape with a guide and take in some of the best scenery Sölden has to offer. What makes this even better is that there is no age limit so it is a perfect activity for families.
