Murren

Mürren's one of Europe’s most historic ski areas - known as the cradle of Alpine skiing. It's located high above the Lauterbrunnen Valley on a dramatic terrace, on the other side of the valley from Wengen. The idyllic traffic-free village is only accessible by cable car and is the ideal retreat from the busier resorts. James Bond fans might recognise the ski area as it featured in the film 'On Her Majestys Secret Service'.

Skiing and snowboarding in Mürren

The resort has its own ‘Mürren-Schilthorn’ ski area with around 54 kilometres of slopes. There is a range of slopes for all abilities, although it is more suited to experienced skiers and boarders as there are some of the most challenging runs in the region here. Non-skiers can take advantage of the excellent winter walking and sledging with the non-skiers’ lift pass.

Where to stay in Mürren

We have a choice of hotel's dotted around Mürren village - they're all within easy reach of the cable car. Choose from modern hotels with pools and spa facilities or traditional Swiss hotels.

Bars and restaurants in Mürren

Mürren has a range of restaurants both on and off the mountain, serving traditional regional classics such as fondue, raclette and rösti. You can also find the renowned Piz Gloria, the world’s first revolving restaurant, easily recognisable as Blofelds mountain top hideout. Be sure to try the '007 burger' which is stamped with the famous '007' logo.
