In the quaint and peaceful town of Lenno lies the Hotel Lenno. With stunning views of Lake Como and less than 100 meters to the ferry point, this is a lovely relaxed place to stay if you wish to escape but want access to all the other busier resorts on the lake. Rooms are simple and comfortably furnished. There is a fantastic restaurant onsite open to both the public and guests staying on a half board basis. Dishes here are influenced by both traditional and regional cuisine as well as fusion cooking which results in some fantastic creations. The hotel has such a passion for food that in 2018 they started cooking lesson during the quiet part of the season which were a huge success. Our point being, they really do know how to cook.
The bright and airy sun terrace at Hotel Lenno partially overlooks the lake and offers guests free use of sun loungers and parasols which are scattered around the large swimming pool (normally open from mid-May until September). There is also a sauna in the hotel's main building which is the ideal spot to relax and rest your feet after a day exploring the town of Lenno as well as its equally gorgeous neighbouring resorts, Moltrasio and Tremezzo.
If you want to head out and explore on foot, we highly recommend aiming towards the spit of land south of the bay. There is a stone footpath leading through the trees all the way to the Villa del Balbianello. Here you can take a tour of the villa and surrounding gardens and learn about the famous Italian explorer Guido Maonzino, who in his early twenties conquered the Matterhorn in Switzerland and then went on to explore other amazing places such as Greenland, Africa and the North Pole.
Transfer time: approx. 2 hours by coach from Milan Malpensa airport.
