About Hotel Harfenwirt

Big skiing, without the big-resort feel. Set in the Wildschönau high valley, Hotel Harfenwirt is a welcoming base for exploring 109km of pistes across Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau. With traditional Tyrolean character, mountain scenery and plenty to do beyond the slopes, it’s a great choice for a relaxed week in the Alps.

It's easy access to the slopes, as the Tennladen lift and nursery slopes are directly opposite the hotel, making things easy for families and beginners. More confident skiers can head further into the local ski area, while the main Markbachjoch gondola and ski-school area are around 500m away. There’s also a ski bus stop right outside the hotel.

If you prefer your ski holidays with a side of Alpine character, Harfenwirt delivers a taste of the true Tyrol. Its traditional Tyrolean feel and friendly atmosphere make it a relaxed place to come back to after a day outside, with half-board dining included to keep things simple. There’s plenty of room for families and groups, too, with a choice of single and family rooms.

When the lifts close and it's time to switch off, head to the wellness area for a proper post-ski reset. Take a dip in the indoor pool, relax in the whirlpool or warm up in the sauna, steam room or infrared cabin. It’s just the thing for tired legs after a full day on the mountain.

The mountains around Wildschönau are made for more than ski days. Swap skis for snowshoes, try a toboggan run or head out for a winter walk through the snowy Alpine scenery. Add in ski storage, the convenient location and good-value half-board stay, and Harfenwirt makes an easy-going base for enjoying the best of a traditional Tyrolean winter.

Discover Niederau

Wild and beautiful – hence the name of one of the Tyrol’s loveliest and most unspoilt valleys. Even though Innsbruck is just under two hours away it could be a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Niederau, the first and biggest of the the Wildschönau's traditional and charming villages, is ideal for beginners looking to progress from blues and intermediate skiers who want testing runs too. Auffach, at the end of the valley, has some more challenging runs, plus some hidden gems. Niederau, Auffach and Alpbach are linked to form the Ski Juwel Area. The resort is linked with Oberau too, just 3 kilometres away by free ski bus service.

In recent seasons, the Wildschönau has won awards for ‘Best Family Ski Area’ and ‘Friendliest Staff’, as well as one for excellent piste preparation.
