About Hotel Dragon

With an unbeatable location at the foot of the piste in Cervinia, the Hotel Dragon is a great choice for your next ski holiday. The hotel has recently had a sophisticated full make-over and lively atmosphere.

The bar and lounge have been transformed into a lovely authentic wine bar with the use of warm alpine materials. Sign up locally and put the taste buds to work as you indulge in a selection of carefully selected wines in a tasting to remember.

Our favourite location is the outdoor terrace. During the sunnier weeks of the season it becomes a suntrap with some of the best views of the Matterhorn from the Italian side of the mountain. The hotel has a lively après scene and a live DJ from 16:00-18:30 every day, there is no better place to enjoy a cool refreshment.

Facilities

  • Sun terrace with views of the Matterhorn and Cervinia's main slopes into the village Live après music from 15:30 -18:30 every day
  • 2 bars - lively bar on ground floor and basement wine bar
  • Public restaurant open 11:00 - 22:00
  • Heated boot room
  • Free Wi-Fi

Location

There's plenty of shops, bars and restaurants close by and it's just a short 150 metre walk through the snow to the Cretaz lift. Getting back to the hotel is even easier as you can ski all the way to the road opposite the hotel (weather permitting) - that's if you can resist stopping at one of the many bars that line the bottom of the slopes next to the lift.

  • Positioned at the foot of the main slopes
  • 50 metres to Top One ski hire shop
  • 100 metres from town centre
  • 150 metres to Cretaz chairlift & ski school meeting point
  • 300 metres to resort bus stop
  • 200 metres to supermarket
  • A continental breakfast with sweet treats and organic delights, many of which are homemade served daily
  • Dinner take place in a private dining area next to the bar, so perfect if you get carried away chatting or listening to the live après acts. Most nights you can enjoy a lovely three-course meal but the themed nights come with an additional course and occasionally take place in the basement 'Speak Easy' wine bar. Dinner is served at 6:30pm each night.
  • While you do need to pay for all drinks locally, we highly recommend taking advantage of the hotels comprehensive wine collection at dinner. With over 200 labels to choose from, the staff are more than happy to help you select the right tipple to compliment the menu.
  • New Year gala meal is included

In Italy, it’s common for hotels not to provide tap water during meal service. Still and sparkling bottled water can be easily purchased locally.

Discover Cervinia

As one of Europe’s highest ski resorts, great snow conditions and an impressive glacier come as standard. What truly makes this resort stand out is the towering site of the Matterhorn and just how close it is. That mixed with the rest of the incredible surrounding landscape and you have yourself the perfect setting for what is simply an amazing ski resort.

Cervinia is known for its extensive ski area and as you head up the mountain to the high peaks of the Plateau Rosa you will appreciate the impressive lift system which connects you to Valtournenche as well as the famous Swiss resort of Zermatt.

Almost an endless network of runs means there is plenty of variety and places to explore as well as some superb off-piste runs. With an International ski pass you have the best of both worlds, so definitely worth it if you want to get the miles in and explore the full area.
