Hotel Banchetta has been family-run since 1930s and they've created a lovely, warm and cosy hotel. It's in the centre of Borgata, a small village four kilometres from the Sestriere - perfect if you're looking for a more relaxed ski holiday. The best thing about the location is that you won't have to queue to get onto the lifts in the morning. Beat the crowds and be one of the first on the mountain. The nearest lift is just 300 meters away and you can ski right back to the hotel. During the day drop your children off at the nearby ski school, which will keep them active and busy. When you re-unite in the evenings you can have hours of old-fashioned family fun with the board games available in the rooms.
The staff here give a warm and friendly service, especially at meal times. Breakfast is buffet style, which means there's no waiting about if you're keen to get explore the Milky Way. The four-course evening meal will help build your energy levels back up and don't forget to visit the bar. It's a great place to relax and chat to other guests about your day on the mountain. If you're lucky enough to have good weather, you can sit out on the terrace and soak up the sunshine. For a treat, make sure you use the small spa facilities (payable locally).
