Discover Interlaken

Interlaken isn’t just a destination – it’s a basecamp for high-altitude winter sports and Alpine thrills (and a destination we can’t get enough of). While Switzerland is famous for its peaks and lakes, Interlaken brings them all together in one spot. Once the snow hits, the dense forests and sleepy villages transform into a massive winter playground. Grab your winter gear and your camera – the mountains are calling, and the views are incredible.

While you won’t find chairlifts in the centre of town, that’s Interlaken’s secret weapon. Think of the village as your mountain basecamp with access to three world-class ski areas. Hop on the mountain railway and in half an hour, you're exploring the Jungfrau region’s 210km of runs. Whether you’re looking for a gentle cruise or a steep challenge, you can pick the perfect area to match your mood every single morning.

Breaking the classic ‘ski town’ mould, this resort is packed with winter activities that don’t require a lift pass. Step off the beaten path and trek through the backcountry on snowshoes or grab a paddle and kayak across the glassy waters of Lake Thun and Lake Brienz – you’ll see the Alps reflected in the ripples with every stroke. And if you’re feeling competitive, nothing beats racing your family down a toboggan run. If you’re looking to explore every inch of the Alps this winter, Interlaken is your key.
