Hotel Palazzo Navona is the perfect choice if you’re after a modern hotel in central Rome. It’s in one of our favourite locations in the city, right round the corner from the lively Piazza Navona. There’s lots of bars and restaurants here that make it a great place to spend the evening. Bernini’s Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi is lit up at night, making it even more special. During the day, we love heading to Campo dei Fiori – Rome’s oldest outdoor market. Grab a slice of pizza from a trattoria and eat it as you browse the stalls. The Pantheon is a couple of minutes’ walk from the hotel too and the rest of Rome’s popular tourist sites can be reached on foot.

The hotel has been done up to a high standard, which makes it a great base to come back to each night. There’s a bar where we like to have a drink before setting out for dinner. During the summer, they open the roof terrace so you can enjoy your drink with fantastic views over the city. They serve breakfast here too when it’s warm, which is a real treat. The rooms here are as comfy as they come – they’ve got lovely soft mattresses, modern furniture and soundproofing so you’re guaranteed a good night’s sleep.

Transfer time: approx. 50 mins by private car from Rome Fiumicino airport or Rome Ciampino airport.

What to see on a Rome city break

Away from the well-worn paths, Rome has plenty of surprises up its sleeve. Dive into tangled medieval neighbourhoods like Trastevere for narrow trattoria-lined streets and hidden chapels - the area comes alive at night with locals enjoying an aperitivo before heading out to dinner. Discover the city's stunning piazzas, framed by ornate buildings and boasting intricate baroque fountains. Or take some time out in the manicured Villa Borghese gardens with ancient villas that showcase some of history's most revered works of art.
