The elegant 19th Century building of Hotel Palazzo Guiscardo is located in the heart of Pietrasanta, just steps away from its beautiful historical centre. The town is also known as the little Athens of Italy and has long been a crossroad for artists coming from all over the world. Today historical and contemporary art works line the streets making the town a real open air museum. Explore artisan studios and see artists creating in their workshops. In the summer months the towns central Piazza del Duomo, is transformed into an outdoor gallery with temporary art exhibits. The hotel is close to the Tuscan Coast and about ten minutes drive to the beach of Marina Di Pietrasanta famed for its iconic pier and beach front bagni (beach clubs) and if you drive a couple of minutes further you'll find yourself in the fashionable beach resort of Forte dei Marmi where the hotel have an agreement with the small Bagno Sandra beach club. Here you'll find comfortable sub loungers shaded by parasols on the lovely sandy beach.

As you enter the hotel lobby it'll feel like you are stepping into a grand mansion with its modern art interior. With just nine guest rooms this hotel has an authentic and personal feel to it. Each room is named after one of the many prestigious local marbles in homage to the many artists, sculptors and artisan labourers who have worked in the town throughout history. Each is uniquely decorated, retaining historical features of the building with marble and antique furnishings. Being in the heart of this artistic town the hotel has its very own art gallery for guests to visit. The hotel is a great starting point to exploring northern Tuscany and its coast.

Tuscany Coast

The Tuscany Coast has been a favoured Italian beach retreat since Roman times. But it really flourished in the early 20th century, when cities like Viareggio decorated the promenade with art deco beach clubs and art nouveau hotels.

Travel north from Viareggio, and you’ll come across Marina di Pietrasanta and its panoramic pier. Forte dei Marmi is right next door – a stylish beach town with sculpture parks and a summer fireworks festival.

Fancy exploring further afield? Fast trains zip from the Tuscany Coast to Pisa and Florence via the rolling Tuscan countryside.

Inghams operate a telephone Rep service on the Tuscan Coast.
