About Design Hotel Levi

The Design Hotel Levi mixes modern and traditional Lappish style. With beautifully designed rooms and a central position in Levi, you're close to the ski slopes, a variety of restaurants, cafes, and stores and access to the Spa Waterworld at the Levi Spa included. It ticks all of the boxes for a winter getaway.

The Design Hotel Levi is the result of a collaboration between several Finnish and Nordic creators, resulting in a beautifully designed hotel. Mountain views are mixed with contemporary Nordic interior design, architecture, sculpture, light installations, and visual art. The rooms' structural elements are adorned with large-scale photography prints by nature photographer Kaisa Sirén. Contemporary sculptures by Risto Immonen and paintings by Hanna Kanto embellish the reception and lounge area.

The Design Hotel is finished to a high standard with cosy communal areas and a range of luxurious rooms. Each room is labelled as 'Deluxe' and provides a welcome retreat after a day's adventure, furnished in a Lappish style yet has all the modern touches, encompassing grey pinewood, natural stones, black and copper finishes- all sourced from Finland.

The Design Hotel Levi is a part of the Levi Hotel Spa Resort, which features a number of different restaurants, ranging from pizza and burgers to local cuisine and fine dining restaurants that focus on Lappish food with modern twists.

The Levi Spa Resort has a wide range of facilities for you to enjoy, including the amazing indoor/outdoor Spa Waterworld that is included in your stay. The indoor waterpark is one of the best in Finland, and provides fun for the whole family. It has a wide variety of indoor pools, and waterslides, as well as saunas, jacuzzis, and an outdoor pool. There's even a special section just for the little ones to enjoy. You can also arrange and pay for local services such as massages and spa treatments as well as fitness facilities like yoga and a gym if you want to stay fit.

With a large array of restaurants available in Levi, the Design Hotel is offered on a bed & breakfast basis.  Breakfast is included and served in the Kekäle Restaurant. The restaurant specialises in serving season and organic products but of course, classic continental options will also be available.

A Festive Feast, a Christmas celebration meal with games and music, is included on the final night of your holiday. Please note that the Festive Feast will replace your last half-board dinner.

Deluxe Loft Room are around 24mand sleeps three to four people - recommended for three adults or two adults and one to two children. These rooms have twin or double beds downstairs, and an additional bed for two children or one adult on the mezzanine level. Please note that these rooms are not suitable for children under 5 years old. Please note that these rooms are on the ground floor.

Deluxe Suites are around 50mand sleep two adults and one child. These rooms have a king bedroom, lounge area with a sofa bed, sauna, and balcony. These rooms are on request, please give our Reservations team a call to book.

Things to do in Levi

Get ready for an unforgettable journey through the winter wonderland of Lapland! Hop on a snowmobile and glide across sparkling snow-covered forests, frozen hills, and glistening arctic lakes - the breathtaking scenery will leave you in awe. 

Duration: 2 hours (from resort)

  • All drivers must be 18 years+ and bring a full, valid photographic driver's licence with them to the excursion
  • Children must be aged 11 years or above and at least 140cm tall to ride as a passenger on a snowmobile; they must be able to touch the footrest when sitting on the snowmobile. Children under this height or aged 4- 10 years will be towed in a sled or pod behind the guide. It is not possible for infants (aged 0-3 years) to take part in this excursion.
  • Single riders who have purchased a sharing snowmobile may need to upgrade locally to a single driving snowmobile if a sharing snowmobile is not available.

 

Snowmobiles

Set off on a magical evening snowmobile adventure through Lapland’s winter wonderland. With snow glistening under the starry sky, your guide will lead you along snowy trails and through enchanted forests to the best spots to search for the breathtaking Northern Lights.

Drivers can take turns behind the handlebars, swapping halfway so everyone gets to enjoy the thrill of driving. Midway through the safari, you’ll stop at a cozy, festive café to warm up with a hot cup of berry juice and a tasty treat, surrounded by the sparkle of Lapland’s Christmas magic.

Duration: 2 hours (from resort)

Feel the excitement of a true Lapland adventure as you set off on a thrilling husky sled safari through the pristine, snow-covered wilderness. After learning the basics of driving your very own sleigh, you’ll be guided by a lively team of eager huskies through a sparkling winter wonderland.

Glide past snow-laden trees and across vast, glittering tundras, with every turn revealing a postcard-perfect Christmas scene straight from a storybook. Once your enchanting journey comes to an end, cozy up by an open fire with a warm cup of berry juice and listen to heartwarming tales about the incredible huskies who made this magical ride possible.

  • Guests must be 18+ and in good physical fitness to drive the husky sled
  • Children younger than 4 can only take part in the 2km husky safari or combined husky & reindeer safari
Husky Rides

Embark on a truly magical Arctic adventure with an evening husky safari through Levi’s snowy wilderness. Sit back and relax in a cosy sled as a skilled guide leads a team of enthusiastic huskies along a scenic 10km trail under the starlit sky. With a bit of luck, the Northern Lights may appear overhead, casting their spell across the night sky — a breathtaking sight you’ll never forget.

Husky Rides

Discover the beauty of Lapland on a peaceful horseback trek with calm and dependable Finn horses. Both beginner and intermediate options are available, with a short introduction provided to help first-time riders feel comfortable, and a slightly more adventurous route for those with riding experience.

Ride through snow-laden forests and take in the serene Arctic scenery on this unforgettable journey—an ideal way to experience Lapland from a unique and tranquil perspective.

Duration: 2.5 hours (from resort), 1.5 hours riding 

  • The beginner's group is for those who have never ridden a horse or have a small amount of riding experience
  • The advanced group is for confident, experienced riders, and children aged 7-12 years must have a good level of horse riding experience to take part
  • Beginner and advanced horse-riding sessions take place at different times. Guests of mixed abilities who wish to ride together should book the beginner excursion
  • All children must be accompanied by a participating adult when taking part in the excursion
Horse Rides

Experience the magic of Lapland with a peaceful horse-drawn sleigh ride through Levi’s enchanting snow-covered forest. Snuggle up in a spacious sleigh for six as you glide along quiet, winding trails beneath the starry Arctic sky. With a bit of luck, you may even witness the mesmerising Northern Lights dancing overhead. Horse Rides

Speed across the specially designed ice track, surrounded by the stunning snow-covered landscapes of Levi. Equipped with high-performance karts kitted out with studded tires and all the necessary safety gear, you'll race around the track feeling the adrenaline of winning the race.   Ready to take on the ice?   • Spectators must accompany a driver, but there is no charge to join
  • Drivers must be over 145cm tall and aged 12+ to pre-book the Ice Karting excursion
Ice Activities

Step into a winter wonderland at the mystical Lainio Snow Village, located 200km above the Arctic Circle. Rebuilt each winter from over 400,000 kilos of ice and 45,000 cubic metres of snow, this impressive hotel features beautifully sculpted rooms, courtyards, an ice bar, restaurant, and even an Ice Chapel. Intricate carvings and designs inspired by Nordic mythology make each year's creation unique, offering a new experience every time you visit.

Duration: 1.5 hours at Snow Village (includes guided tour)

  • Available from mid-December onwards. Visits that are booked before the public opening date may not be have a completed Village to see. You will be able to have a more 'behind the scenes' visit and maybe see the artists working. The completion of the Snow Village is weather-dependent.
Ice Activities

Northern Light Stays

An opportunity for guests who have never skied before to try the wonderful world of skiing. Conditions are ideal for learning to ski with quiet slopes and friendly English-speaking instructors. The ski taster starts at beginner slopes at South Point, about 10-20 minutes by ski bus from Levi centre. Buses run every 15 minutes.
