Information on ski lift passes

Your lift pass is an essential bit of kit for your ski holiday. Without one, you can’t access the ski slopes. Each ski resort will have its own lift pass office issuing local area passes. Some resorts will be part of a much larger area, with the lift pass office offering both local and whole area passes. With Inghams you can pre-book your lift pass, adding on it onto your holiday before you go away.

Why pre-book your lift pass?

  • Great choice of lift passes – we offer a wide choice of pre-bookable lift passes, from whole area and local area passes, to senior lift passes, youth lift passes and family lift passes. In some resorts we even have pre-bookable non-skier lift passes.

  • No paying for your pass while on holiday – pre-book your pass at the time of booking and you don’t have to pay the balance until 10 weeks before departure . As your lift pass is paid for in advance, you don’t have to dip into your daily holiday budget while you’re away.

  • Special offers – look out at the time of booking for special offers on pre-bookable lift passes, such as BOGOHP for Tignes and Val d'Isere - Buy one get one half price on all 6 day lift passes for 27 Jan, 9 & 30 Mar 2024 (while stocks last).

Senior and youth lift passes

  • Many ski resorts offer reductions on lift passes for senior skiers (69+ in most resorts) and teenagers (children between 12 and 17 years old in most resorts). Where these passes are available, they will become bookable as soon as you load ages into your ski holiday booking.
  • Please note: proof of age may be requested in resort. Reductions are offered based on the age of the guest at the time of their holiday (first day of skiing for senior passes, and last day for youth passes).

Family and child lift passes

  • Children will frequently have access to cheaper lift passes than adults. Different ski resorts may have different requirements for child lift passes, children are usually recognised as those under 11 years old, but you should check your resort page for exact details. If you’re skiing with the family, family lift passes, which are available in selected resorts, are another cost effective way of skiing together.

Non-skiers lift pass

  • In some ski resorts special passes are available for non-skiers, for activities such as winter walking. Please check availability of pre-bookable non-skier lift passes on the resort pages. Non-skier passes are frequently offered by local lift pass offices, and if you can’t find the pass you’re looking for, our representatives can help you to purchase a non-skiers pass in resort.

How to book

  • Pre-booking your lift passes through Inghams couldn’t be easier. You can add your lift pass at the time of booking your ski holiday, or by using Manage My Booking.
  • You can add extras at any time up to 3 days before your holiday. Please be aware that any ski extras you add after your initial booking will be priced at current rate, not the price at the time of booking.
  • If you want to know more about lift passes in your ski resort, more details can be found under the Ski Extras tab on your resort page.

Please note:

  • Your ski extras are bound by Inghams terms and conditions. The ski extra service is provided by a third party supplier and does not form part of your holiday package.

Ski essentials FAQ's

Some resorts have free lifts for beginners, but these are very short, slow lifts scattered across the base of the mountain and only access green runs. If you want to advance beyond the beginner lifts, you will need a lift pass.

If this is your first time, we advise you not to spent lots of money on brand new equipment. Amongst many reasons, as a beginner you might not fully know whether you’ll prefer skiing or snowboarding, and then you don’t want lots of non-returnable equipment on your hands! It is cheaper, easier and just as fun to rent your equipment in the resort and hand it back at the end of your trip.

You can rent skis, boots and poles for skiers. Boots and snowboards for snowboarders. Helmets are also available to rent and we recommend our guests to take this opportunity. There are three different grades of adult skis/boards available to rent: Blue, Red and Black, as explained in our guide. Check with your insurance policies before you rent the most expensive equipment there is (Black). All is explained in our handy Quick Guide: Ski and snowboard equipment explained (coming soon!).

You can add a ski carriage at time of booking. Booking in advance will help you secure the best possible price. On some flights, ski carriage is limited so we recommend booking as soon as possible. If you are travelling on one of our Jet2 charter flights, you can book ski carriage directly with Jet2 via their website. You will be asked for your Inghams reference number so make sure you have this to hand before booking. It’s important to note that ski carriage will be slightly more expensive when booking via Jet2 and it can only be done 7 days after your booking is confirmed by Inghams.
