About Hotel Pyhätunturi

You couldn't ask for a better located hotel than the Hotel Pyhätunturi. Set on the edge of the Pyhätunturi fell, you have convenient ski in, ski out access to the snowy slopes of Pyhä. Spend your days carving down the slopes, exploring the excellent off piste and making the most of your included 6 day lift pass.

After a day of arctic adventures, enjoy cosying up in your modern Scandinavian style bedroom, equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay in Finland. In addition to essentials like Wi-Fi and drying cupboards, you also have access to the shared sauna and fitness room, where you can unwind in the sauna or stretch out in the fitness room. Most of the rooms also have breathtaking panoramic views of the national park, allowing you to enjoy the natural beauty of Lapland right from the comfort of your own room.

Available on a half board basis, you can fill up for the day at the varied breakfast buffet with a selection of hot and cold dishes, fresh pastries and seasonal treats. In the evenings you can look forward to a delicious three course dinner, with a mix of traditional Finnish specialities and international dishes. From warming soups, to locally caught fish and decadent desserts, the menu is perfect for refuelling after a day of skiing.

The Hotel Pyhätunturi is the ideal base for your Lapland Adventure. Conveniently located right next to the ski slopes, you are just a snowball's throw from the lifts. Each day, you can easily access the ski lifts via the red Polar 4 slope or the green Skiway slope near the Family Slopes.

At the end of the day, you can virtually ski right back to the hotel door on the black-graded Piste Palander slope that runs right alongside the property. The Pyhä Family Adventure slope area is right next to the hotel, so beginners can practise their turns and techniques on the gentle slopes.

The Pyhätunturi Hotel is offered on a half board basis. 

Each morning you can start your day with a delicious breakfast buffet with a variety of sweet and savoury options. From freshly baked pastries and fruits to hearty hot dishes and an assortment of cheeses and cold cuts, there is something for everyone.

When it comes to dinner a three course evening meal (served or buffet style) is served in the Camp Kitchen restaurant. The menu often features seasonal soups, Finnish specialities and international dishes and decadent desserts.

Head on an exhilarating adventure through Lappish nature on a snowmobile safari. The incredible scenery through the snow-covered forests, frozen fells and arctic lakes will take your breath away. There is no better way to speed around the Arctic than on a snowmobile - a great way to have some fun and see all that Lapland has to offer.  

Duration: 2 hours

  • All drivers must be aged 18 or over and must bring a full, valid photographic driving licence to the excursion. Snowmobiling is a physically demanding activity, so participants should have a reasonable level of fitness to take part.
  • Children must be aged 13 or above and at least 140cm tall to ride as a passenger on a snowmobile, they must be able to touch the foot rest when sat on the snowmobile. Children under this height or aged 5-11yrs will be towed in a sled or pod (unheated) behind the guide. It is not possible for infants (aged 0-4 years) to take part in this excursion.
  • Single riders who have purchased a sharing snowmobile may be required to upgrade locally to a single-driving snowmobile if no sharing snowmobiles are available.
Snowmobiles

Feel the thrill of adventure as you head on a husky sleigh ride through the enchanting Lappish landscape. You will go on a husky ride with a team of eager dogs as you rush past stunning Arctic landscape, whether it's glistening snow covered forests, expansive tundras as far as the eye can see or over frozen lakes, this is an adventure not to be missed. For this safari, you will drive the sleigh.

  • This is a self‑driven husky safari. Each husky team is usually shared by two adults or one adult and two children: one adult will drive the sleigh, and the other(s) will ride as a passenger
  • Guests must be at least 18 years old and in good physical condition to drive the sled. It is not possible to arrange for a guide to drive the sled.
  • This excursion is available for children aged 4–12 years. 
  • Single riders who have booked a sharing husky‑sled option may be required to upgrade locally to a single‑driver sled if no sharing sleds are available.
Husky Rides

Visit an authentic reindeer farm, where you’ll learn all about these gentle arctic animals and their importance to Sami culture. Warm up with a traditional soup lunch before heading out on a serene sleigh ride through snowy forests, guided by a Sami guide and their reindeer.
