About Grand Hotel Serre Chevalier

Built in 1947, the Grand Hotel Serre Chevalier was one of the resorts first hotels. Located in the Chantemerle area of Serre Chevalier, this stylish hotel has a prime position at the base of the slopes giving you convenient access to the lifts and snowy slopes of Serre Chevalier.

After a day on the mountain, make the most of the NUXE Spa with a dip in the indoor pool or relax with a cocktail in the bar area while enjoying the surrounding views of the mountains and village. The rooms are furnished in a cosy alpine style, providing a welcoming and comfortable base for your next ski holiday in the French Alps.

Spa & wellness

After a day on the mountain there is nowhere better to unwind than in the NUXE Spa. The luxurious spa is well equipped with everything you need for an evening of relaxation including;

  • Massages & treatments (pay locally)

Hotel guests have a one hour slot per person, per day included included in their stay. The spa is open at the following times:

  • Low season: 10am-1pm & 3pm-8pm 
  • High season: 10am-8pm 

Access is possible for 16 year olds and over.   Children can enjoy KidsSpa slots when accompanied by an adult, everyday from 12pm to 2pm. Reservations are required at the Nuxe Spa reception.

Superior rooms are around 17m² sleeping two to three people. These rooms have a king size bed and a fold out bed for the third person,  views of the village and a shower.

Deluxe rooms are around 20m² sleeping two to three people. These rooms have a king size bed and a fold out bed for the third person, a balcony with views of the piste and a bath or shower.

Suites are around 40m² sleeping four people. The Suite features a spacious bedroom with a king size bed, and a double sofa bed in the living room, plus a balcony or terrace overlooking the pool. These rooms are on a request basis, please give our Reservations team a call to book.

We have a 7 night train option to Serre Chevalier that can be booked online. This departs and returns Saturdays.

The there will be one change of train, which is in Paris. The train between Paris and Oulx is by the high speed TGV train.

The transfer from Oulx railway station to Serre Chevalier is 50 minutes.

Discover Serre Chevalier

Serre Chevalier takes its name from the peak that dominates the Guisane Valley and is made up of four separate villages - Briancon, Chantemerle, Villeneuve and Monetier Les Bains. This fantastic ski area has 250 kilometres of well interconnected pistes, ample off piste opportunities above Villeneuve and Monetier and probably more trees than any other resort in Europe. We've chosen accommodation situated in the villages of Villeneuve, Briançon and Chantemerle for their good selection of bars, restaurants and shops.

Things to do in Serre Chevalier

The indoor ice rink is located in the Briancon area of Serre Chevalier and is open all winter season. This rink is of Olympic dimensions, so you'll have plenty of space to practice and perfect your technique. Enjoy a solo skating session or make the most of the activities they have on offer for families and friends - there are also 'Ice Garden' activities available during the school holidays.

You can also find an outdoor rink located in Villeneuve, if you'd prefer to skate in the crisp winter air with great views. 

Fat biking is a great way to explore the mountains away from the busy pistes and you'll also get some fantastic photo opportunities along the way!

Take a trip through the snow on a dog sled and watch as the peaks pass by. This activity can be found in the Briançon village. You'll have the opportunity to drive the sled yourself or if you'd prefer to sit back and take photos, a professional musher will steer the sleigh for you. 

Spend an evening with family or friends and enjoy a game of bowling at Serre Chevaliers recreational leisure centre in Chantemerle. You'll also find other games for children including table football and shuffle boards and for adults there is a bar serving drinks and cocktails. 

Test your wits and try solve a series of mysteries and riddles and the Serre Chevalier Escape Game. There are 2 rooms and the story comes straight out of you and your groups imagination - will you be able to solve the puzzle?
