If skiing, relaxing and great food is what you are after, look no further than the magnificent Hotel Lac Salin. Sat conveniently at the side of the piste and just 50 metres from the nearest ski lift, you couldn't get a much better location for your next ski holiday.

The hotel has created a strong emphasis around relaxation and at the centre of it you will find an impressive 1200m² spa complex. A beautiful crystal clear pool starts things off followed by the steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and much, much more. The hotel even has a weekly activities programme which include a guided show shoeing adventure, skiing sessions and morning yoga or aqua gym. If you are on holiday with the kids, there is a miniclub available every day (except Saturday) and is free of charge.

If the spa is not your thing, don't worry, you can hide away in your room and enjoy the view from your balcony, which comes as standard. Alternatively, you could head into the centre of town and take advantage of the free fashion card offered by the hotel, getting you discount in loads of great shops in the resort. The walk into town is lovely but you can hop on the free resort ski bus should your legs not be up for the journey, the nearest bus stop is just 100 metres from the hotel.

We know that food is a big part of any ski holiday and the hotel will make sure you have plenty of choice to keep your energy levels up. We especially loved the antipasto buffet, just make sure you don't fill up before the main course comes out, or dessert for that matter.

Livigno

Fast becoming one of the most exciting ski resorts in the Alps, Livigno is making a big name for itself as now confirmed as one of the venues for the 2026 Olympics and it’s easy to see why. Sat not far from the Swiss border, this snow sure resort has an extensive, modern ski area whilst retaining the traditional character of its original three villages.

The town itself sits in the valley where either side of you, the mountains rise up creating two separate ski areas, all linked by the efficiently and free local buses circulating the resort. The unique layout means there are dedicated areas and lifts for beginners straight from resort level, while more experienced skiers and boarders can head to the top and enjoy a huge range of on and off-piste in the area as well as fun parks, boarder cross tracks and for those looking for some serious fun, head to the Mottolino snowpark which has hosted many international freestyle competitions.

Shoppers can take advantage along the traffic free streets in the centre of the resort as not only is there a great selection of shops to choose from, the resort interestingly since the 16th century and to this day holds a duty free status, meaning your money goes much further. Here you will also find a great selection of cafes, restaurants as well as a huge range of non-ski related activities from fat biking to husky sledding, plenty to keep you busy each day.

To end with, rumour has it the ‘Bombardino’ was created in Livigno, so when people ask us is the resort good for après, with around 150 bars to pick from, it most certainly is, possibly the best we have experienced in Italy but why not judge it for yourself and make this your next ski destination.
