Hotel Livigno's traditional and homely. It opened in 1912 and has been run by the same family ever since. The service you get here is great - we love the comfy rooms and tasty food. After dinner, head to the bar and make sure you're there for the hotel's weekly grappa tasting.

The location's great for a ski holiday. The Cassana lift is only 100 metres away and the local buses stop right outside the hotel so you can get to the centre of Livigno easily. The hotel's only about 300 metres from the pedestrianised zone so you can walk there and browse the little shops along the way. If you need to relax, we can recommend the hotel's wellness area.

Livigno

Fast becoming one of the most exciting ski resorts in the Alps, Livigno is making a big name for itself as now confirmed as one of the venues for the 2026 Olympics and it’s easy to see why. Sat not far from the Swiss border, this snow sure resort has an extensive, modern ski area whilst retaining the traditional character of its original three villages.

The town itself sits in the valley where either side of you, the mountains rise up creating two separate ski areas, all linked by the efficiently and free local buses circulating the resort. The unique layout means there are dedicated areas and lifts for beginners straight from resort level, while more experienced skiers and boarders can head to the top and enjoy a huge range of on and off-piste in the area as well as fun parks, boarder cross tracks and for those looking for some serious fun, head to the Mottolino snowpark which has hosted many international freestyle competitions.

Shoppers can take advantage along the traffic free streets in the centre of the resort as not only is there a great selection of shops to choose from, the resort interestingly since the 16th century and to this day holds a duty free status, meaning your money goes much further. Here you will also find a great selection of cafes, restaurants as well as a huge range of non-ski related activities from fat biking to husky sledding, plenty to keep you busy each day.

To end with, rumour has it the ‘Bombardino’ was created in Livigno, so when people ask us is the resort good for après, with around 150 bars to choose from, it most certainly is, possibly the best we have experienced in Italy but why not judge it for yourself and make this your next ski destination.
