The idyllic village of Wengen lies high up on a sunny, sheltered terrace with spectacular views, dominated by that magnificent trio of peaks – the Eiger (Ogre), Mönch (Monk) and Jungfrau (Maiden) – which provide a magnificent backdrop to Mürren and Wengen, and in part to Grindelwald, all of which enjoy genuinely superb in-your-face scenery. You will arrive in this charming, friendly village by mountain railway as it has reduced traffic (some electric vehicles are present). The local area pass covers Wengen and Grindelwald, whilst the Jungfrau whole area pass also covers Mürren, on the other side of the Lauterbrunnen Valley. Take the cable-car from Wengen village centre, which links to Grindelwald’s ski area or take the mountain railway to the Kleine Scheidegg where both ski areas meet. Skiers of all grades will delight in the expanse of pistes and beautiful scenery. The Eigergletscher station and Eigernordwand 6-persons chair lift give access to black and red slopes, including the black, runs “oh God” and “Black Rock” or the red “Punchbowl”. Non-skiers can take advantage of the excellent winter walking with a non-skiers’ lift pass.
In Wengen you'll have one of our reps's in resort who will know the local area and can assist you with any queries.
