Ideal location 

Everything you might need for your ideal winter holiday is only a short walk away. These cabins are in the centre of Saariselkä so you'll have easy access to a range of bars and restaurants, excursions and scenic routes - perfect for hiking or tobogganing. The closest ski bus stop is located within a 5 minute walk of all three cabins so accessing the ski slopes won't be a problem. 

Traditional Lappish design 

We're sure our log cabin apartments will fill you with that magical Lapland feeling. Each cabin has a traditional round pine log design that's complimented by a modern interiors. The warm colours used throughout the cabin help to create the perfect cosy home for a winter trip - use of the fireplace and sauna will definitely become part of your daily holiday routine. 

Wellness facilities 

A Lapland cabin holiday needs a sauna and each of these cabins provide access to one. You can either have your own private sauna with our Hirvas suite cabin, or if you're not too fussy, our superior suite cabin offers a private, dedicated time slot in larger communal sauna. If you really feel like treating yourselves, our premium cabin even has a 5 person hot tub on the terrace so you can keep an eye out for the Northern lights all whilst in the warmth of the bubbles.

Located in the wild mystical north of Lapland, Saariselkä is an exceptionally friendly, uncommercialised resort with a unique frontier atmosphere. With magnificent Arctic wilderness scenery just on the doorstep, it makes an ideal resort for an all-round winter wonderland adventure. The skies are often a deep hue of pink and purple, the pine trees heavily laden with snow, and being so far north there is a good possibility of seeing the Northern Lights too. In Saariselkä, you're deep in Sámi country, where many people from the indigenous community of Lapland live and work today.

Arctic skiing and activity holidays in Saariselkä

Saariselkä is Europe's most northern ski resort and is renowned for its excellent cross-country ski trails in the adjoining National Park. In Saariselkä there are over 200 kilometres of cross country ski tracks, 34 of which are illuminated - so you can make the most of these tracks despite the polar nights. The general ski area is spread across the Lisakkipää and Kaunispää fells and is best suited for beginners and intermediates. The ski schools here speak English and all of the slopes lead back to the same area in the valley where you'll be able to warm up in the café or by a campfire.

Apart from skiing, Saariselkä offers a range of winter excursions that will make you Lapland holiday complete. There'll be plenty of opportunities for reindeer and husky sleigh safaris as well as snowmobiling, snow shoeing and many more exciting activities! Kuukkeli superior suite is about 52m² and sleep 2-4 people. This cabin has one bedroom with twin beds and sliding door that leads to the open plan kitchen and living room area. The lounge also has a sofa bed which can sleep an additional two people. The bathroom has a shower and two person whirl-pool. The cabin also has it's own dedicated hour-long slot in the communal house sauna (timings advised on arrival). This cabin apartment has a shared entrance.

Kuukkeli hirvas suite is about 80m² and can sleep 4-6 people. The log cabin apartment has two twin bedrooms. There is a fully equipped kitchen open plan dining and living room area that has a sofa bed which can sleep an additional two people. Facilities include a toilet, separate shower room, a private sauna and a terrace with outdoor whirlpool. This cabin apartment has a shared entrance. 

Kuukkeli premium suite is about 133m² and can sleep 4-6 people. This cabin has one bedroom and and alcove (separated from the living area by a curtain), both with double beds - the larger bedroom has a private en-suite bathroom with a shower. There is an open plan kitchen and living room area that has a sofa bed (140x210cm) which can sleep an additional two people. There is a central sauna with a dressing room area, showers and a toilet. There is a third toilet beside the lobby. The sauna area leads to an outdoor terrace with a 5 person whirlpool.

These cabins are in an ideal central location in the resort of Saariselkä.

Each cabin is located a 180-300 metres walk to the Holiday Club Hotel where half board meals will be served. The closest ski bus stop to the cabins is also located outside the front of this hotel.

The cabins are located 1.6 kilometres from the ski lifts and ski area.

Kuukkeli Log Cabins are self catering and provide you with a fully equipped kitchen. There are also a range of bars and restaurants within a short walk of the cabins, located in Saariselkä resort centre.

Breakfast is a buffet style with hot and cold options.

Dinner is a three-course buffet served from 5pm-8pm.

Festive buffet dinners are included on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.
