With Chamonix centre just around the corner and unbeatable views of Mont Blanc, PlanB has created a base for your ski holiday that ticks all the right boxes. It’s a hotel that feels like Chamonix itself - bold, welcoming and full of life. Simply put, it’s the kind of hotel you visit once and then find yourself coming back to again and again. With its simple, modern and comfy vibe, PlanB is all about making you feel right at home.

The friendly competition doesn't have to end when the lifts close. Keep the energy going with a family challenge at "Highway 66" mini-bowling alley. If you'd prefer a quiet corner to chill, there’s a spot for everyone to enjoy the afternoon. While the children stay busy in their own dedicated area (stocked with board games, wooden toys and colouring), you can finally relax. Grab a coffee, pop your feet up and take a well-earned breather while keeping an eye on the fun.

Parched from the mountain air or just in the mood for a treat? The bar has you covered. Order a cold local beer or one of their latest cocktail creations and discuss the day's antics. If aperitifs are your thing, the snack board is waiting for you. And to top it off, Happy Hour takes place every single day from 4pm to 6pm - it's the perfect way to unwind with awesome mountain views before dinner.

Hotel PlanB is offered on a bed and breakfast basis with the option to upgrade to half board.

Enjoy a continental buffet breakfast with fresh local produce, served between 6:30am and 10am.

Between 2pm and 6pm, the restaurant serves up a great snack menu - perfect for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up. While these aren't included in the half-board package, they’re easy to pay for locally as you go. Dig into some raclette and maple-glazed bacon fries, or grab a sweet treat to fuel up before heading back to the slopes. 

If you've opted for the ease of half board, dinner is served from 7pm to 9:30pm. Succumb to the temptation of a juicy burger, or go traditional with the melty comforts of Alpine hot cheese boxes. And dinner wouldn't be complete without one of the homemade desserts - the blueberry French toast with vanilla cream is a must-try.

Quad suites are around 26m² and sleep four people. These rooms have one bedroom with either a double or twin beds and a living area with a double sofa bed. There is a shower room, and some apartments have balconies with Mont-Blanc or Aiguilles de Chamonix views.

Family rooms are around 32m² and sleep five people. These rooms have one bedroom with either a double or twin beds and a triple room with three single beds. There is a shower room, and some rooms have balconies with Mont-Blanc views. 

One-bedroom apartments are around 39m² and sleep four people. These apartments have one bedroom with either a double or twin beds and a living area with a double sofa bed. There is a fully equipped kitchenette, a shower room and some apartments have balconies with Mont-Blanc or Aiguilles de Chamonix views.

Two-bedroom apartments are around 45m² and sleep six people. These apartments have two bedrooms. The first bedroom can be made up of either a double or twin beds. The second bedroom can be made up of either a double, twin beds or bunk beds. There is a living room with double sofa bed, fully equipped kitchenette and a shower room. Discover Chamonix

Set against truly spectacular scenery at the foot of the majestic Mont Blanc, the resort's setting is both unique and breath-taking. Chamonix offers an excellent range of sporting and leisure facilities with an unrivalled nightlife whilst Les Houches is quieter but full of Alpine charm. 

Chamonix has been awarded two Flocon Vert snowflakes, demonstrating the resort's commitment to environmental preservation and highlighting its dedication to sustainable development. Guests can benefit from a guest card included with your accommodation, this gives you free access to the trains and buses in the Chamonix valley. The main fleet has a range of electric buses and hybrid buses to transport you around the valley. Chamonix has also begun the process of requesting UNESCO recognition for the Mont Blanc massif.

Things to do in Chamonix

Take to the skies and admire Chamonix from above. Parapenting is a popular excursion in the Alpine regions as it is a unique and thrilling experience and you can see the mountains from a different point of view. Payable locally.

The Planards park has a range of unique mountain activities for the whole family to enjoy. 'SNOCC' is a French innovation which combines skiing and sledding, and allows the non skiers to have a go at gliding downhill. Open throughout the winter season, pay locally. 

Alternatively the luge coaster allows two people to speed down the 1.3km track which is filled with twists and turns.  The ride is open to all over three years old, and operates in all weather conditions. Payable locally.

With an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, indoor climbing and indoor tennis and a gym, there is something to keep you occupied at the Richard Bozon Sports Centre. 

Swap your skis or board for some skates and fly around the ice at the indoor Olympic sized rink at the Richard Bozon Sports Centre.  There is also an outdoor rink is also open throughout the winter season.

Support the Pioneers, Chamonix's local team when they play home matches which are generally on Saturday evenings. 

The Bowling Alley is open in the evening throughout the winter season. With eight lanes, an arcade, billiards room and mini golf,  it is a great evening out for the whole family. Drinks and snacks are available as well. Pay locally.

Chamonix has a number of designated sledging areas across the resort which are regularly maintained. Enjoy sledding in the Savoy beginners area in the centre of Chamonix. Located next to the magic carpet lift you will see a mound of snow that is heaped up and is generally enjoyed by those sledging. 

If you are not on skis, snowshoeing is an excellent way to enjoying the snowy scenery. With a range of trails suitable for all skill levels, Chamonix is one of the greatest locations in the region for snowshoeing.

The Aiguille du Midi is the highest cable car in Chamonix taking you up to 3842m, the closet you can get to the summit of Mont Blanc without climbing or hiking.  On a clear day, you can see the surrounding peaks of the Matterhorn, the Monte Rosa and the Grand Combin.

Departing from Chamonix’s central train station, take the little red train up to Montenvers to take in the impressive view of the Mer de Glace glacier. Take a trip into the very heart of the glacier with a walk through the ice cave, which is re-sculpted every year.
